Default stumped on what to buy

hi everyone, i am getting ready to buy a 5th scale and i need some help. i want a buggy that i can race but also do some bashing. i have gone to many forums and have done sufficient homework on the baja 5b ss. i am also looking at the MCD race runner ultimate and the redcat rampage TT. which is better for what? what is the most durable. the redcat rampage is significantly cheaper than the baja ss kit. i am looking for one that will be easy to work on and be well protected in an accidental crash. please help

i would start out by asking what is your budget? and will you be racing or bashing more as both desire different setups, parts, ect.....
also what current gear do you have that may work on a large scale? servos, radio ect....

i see your in cali, so you obviously have places to race at, which is a bonus for you.
where 4wd has its benefits, 2wd also offers its one set of benefits.

some hopups may be required to get the most out of a vehicle....as a general rule if its not broke dont fix it....wait till it brakes then get a hopup for the part broken

All the 1/5 vehicles have weak spots....baja rampage FG MCD all have weak spots......identify them and upgrade the parts...enjoy your money pit

baja is supper easy to work on. You can have it apart in minutes. Get a pipe and wake it up.

Just got done reading about the Baja 2.0
That is what you should get if you want RTR.
If you want to build it get the SS version.
If you want a truck buy the 5T.

considering he appears MORE interestd in Racing instead of more bashing, i would still stick with the HPI units. much more aftermarket, though the RP aftermarket is still growing and has Great Manufacturers making the upgrades. but a 5B SS or a 5T in a lightly modified form would be more suited to racing, especially in Cali where there are now 3 or 4 different Baja Specific large scale tracks.
