Default My latest 5B creation

SO here it is maybe two months in the works , so a list of mods are

Complete FLM alloy suspension arms stock length

turtleracing shock mounts front &rear

metal gear steering conversion kit

ramtech rear heavy duty springs

8000rpm clutch spring

vertigo extenders front & rear

vertigo billet clutch carrier

Polished main chassis , polished stock roof

Front alloy bumperbar and rear alloy wing both made by me and then polished

hpi heavy duty axles

chrome engine dress up kit

DDM alloy iron cross gas cap

led lights

rear alloy bearing hubs

rear width hpi rims front & rear with darksoulracing beadlocks, with Proline excavator tires

GH alloy gearbox with alloy case diff

TGN alloy spark plug cover

PM billet spur gear cover with grim reaper cap

Now the engine
Billet Trevor simpson induction crankcase engine with 813 carb ,
ESP raceported 36mm with stuffed stroker is now 30.5cc
HRS zero drag brass engine seals , copper head gasket.

Exhaust is TGN race pipe raw finish then i personally sent it to a local place to get Chromed .

NOW only complaint i have is i dony really like the FLM front lower suspension arms cos the shock mount location is too short making the shock compressed almost half way in the shocker .

tommorow i take it for a test run and see how it goes .

Looking good!

The problem you have with the FLMshock mounting is because your using the lowest shock tower position to mount your shocks on, these are intended for maximum ride height and you've tried to compensate for the extra height by lowering the front via your preload rings (shock adjustment rings).

To get the ride height correct and get your lost suspension travel back try mounting your shocks higher on that nice FLMtower, there are loads of holes to choose from, sadly using the turtle racing brace means you lose a lot of those options and gain relatively little for it.

edit: and you've definatly got the right springs on the front shocks?

yes i know about the front shock mount thing lol , it comes with the very nice FLM shock tower but then i still wanted to use the HD turtle shock mount so it kinda works but then it doesnt cos its too compressed , it came with alloy shock caps aswell so you can mount it in any position with all those holes and ive tried that , but yeah i will have to mount it the proper way when i get the entire set of RC4WD shocks , i might have to make an alloy bar and use the holes to screw on the bar so then i can mount the turtle shock mount higher .

Well i took it for a test run today , and she goes pretty damn hard , its a really strong engine , there is something about the ESP heads that give it that special extra differance in sound and higher revs , it was running tight at first with all the grease in the gear box and new piston but around second run it started to open up a hell of alot , and those proline excavator tires arnt called excavator for nothing lol they really chew up and spit the dirt right out its crazy , soon ill have vids of my machines both of my crazy 5b's and my FG MT  , waiting for tax return money to buy a decent vid camera .

yeah its a shame it was only the lower holes that line up with the Turtle mount, but i've found it catches the ground if you car ever does a barrel roll or something similar where it lands upside down. Ican do those all day with the stock setup, my mate put the Turtle mount on his otherwise stock front suspension tower and the first time he hit a jump wrong (only the two left wheels)his baja rolled over, the Turtle mount dug into the ground and tore his front stock tower apart. Turtle mount was fine though, just everything else demolished - i'd been hitting that jump wrong as well and sliding on my roof all day no problems - just something to keep in mind - wouldn't want to see that nice FLMtower get bent.
