great vid pete, doyou guys go for top-speed runs also. What were some of the top speed you guys ranthat afternoon?. We race top-end drags like 600-800ft long. So we all run top-end gears.

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
Thanks miami,
We do top speed runs, but normally what is seen in the video is what we like to do.
The track is 300 feet from the start to finish line, we don't go by MPH, but the system does track it, along with ET and RT, but we go by the first to cross the finish line with the fastest ET down the track.
The fastest car from the 5th scales was a FG Baja with a TS motor and the new VRC FG pipe, 300 feet at 4.59 seconds at 68.59 mph, this same car has done 400 foot speed runs at 78mph.
I will get more videos up within 2 weeks.
Thanks
Pete

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
That is by far the best 1/5 scale drag video I've ever seen. Looks like a lot of fun and a well organized event. Makes me almost want to move up there (if it wasnt for those winter months).
I see I have to get on point and start bringing the camera out on sundays. Only thing is, we dont really drag so we dont have a tree but top end is always fun to see.
Nice.

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
Thanks for the nice comment, I am far from a camera man, I stink at making videos, but I wanted to show some of what we do at FBF.
There was about 8 or 9 Revo guys and someother 8th and 10th sacle stuff, but I had to cut them out of this video, I just wanted to show the big toys!
I am working on setting up 2 tripods, one at the starting line, the other at the finish line, this way you will see every race in detail, hopefully I will have that ready by our next race on the 14th.
Speed runs are fun too!!
Thanks
Pete

Sorry you feel that way dirty, most times I do not add music to the videos and had request's that just the engine noise got boring.
You know the old saying " you can't please them all"
Thanks for looking at our video, next one I will keep that in mind.

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
we are no where near the 10th scale track.
Matter of fact, most of those 10th and 8th scale guys were running on our strip at that time.
When entering FBF make the first left turn, go straight to the first right turn, take that straight down to the water, sanitation building toward your right, you make a left, take that road straight down, we are located just before the RC flying field.
We start at 11am on june 14th, this coming weekend is not a organized race as seen in the video, we do this every other weekend, so the guys usually start showing up around 11:30am and ends around 5pm.

Damned if you do damned if you don't
Perhaps 50/50, then everyone's happy
I mainly wanted to hear the big one at 1:25 in the video.
Is that a nitro or a gasser?
Thanks.

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
Yes it does RT,ET and MPH and it is very accurate to my radar gun, this tree is close to 15 years old, it has just been updated and calibrated.
We priced a new tree, not sure were the guys went, but the one we were looking at was $5300+, I will find the site and post it here, I'm sure there are cheaper tree's you can find, depending on what you want.
Thanks

RE: 1/5th scale Drag Racing
yeah nice vids.
but yeah cut out the music, it kills the fun of really hearing the engine screammmmmmmmmmmm. that is the fun of drag races hearing the engines, when you see vids of real car races you dont hear them playing music in the background.
but nice to finally get those vids pete, keep up the good work!!!!
