X-Cans or DDM tuned pipe
I was wondering what would be the pros and cons of each. I like the look of the X-Can w 6in stingers. I just can't see how the X-can would be a better pipe overall than the DDM. Any thoughts on this?

RE: X-Cans or DDM tuned pipe
the X-can is really not a great purchase. they are super loud(louder then a dom) and only add a small amount of low end torque. the longer stingers also rob some of the power and constantly vibrate loose. i removed the stingers to get more power and it is now so loud i dont like to drive it. i have 2 side dom pipes on other rigs and they are so amazing it is almost hard to explain. more torque, more noticable power band and higher revs with such a sweet sound. also, that little bit of "muscle" sticking out the side/back simply means respect. a ddm pipe is worth every penny.

Does the side dom provide more power than the rear dom, or are they about the same?

the rear DOM is loud for sure!
I think the side DOM is a better pipe

The side and rear doms are the most consistent performers with engines of all sizes, they make a big difference to power and noise. However, the X-cans shouldn't be underestimated. I'm constantly astounded what a big difference they make for their simple design. They are both loud, the only truly quiet baja pipe is the Mielke.

Problem with the side pipes is they get in the way of the body. Right?

For me I don't care how good a side pipe is I think it totally ruins the look of the baja[]
I run a jetpro V4 track pipe now

the side dom is ruthless- and its volumes quieter than the rear. i think the dyno's showed the side makes a bit more power and holds it a bit longer than the rear. it doesnt give anything up on the low end from what i could tell.

That is the Mielke on my ex car by the way. I often wonder how this car's doing these days. Sure was a looker.
