Default carson help please

Ok well i broke my pull start on my carson gas blaster and thought it would be an easy fix...I was wrong..

I ordered a brand new one off of ebay that they said would fit all cy and zen engines but it was slightly too big and would not make contact with the engine so i sent it back and ordered another one that the guy assured me would fit and it was fully chrome but again it was too big and did not make contact with the engine.

Does any one know were i can get on from, evan a carson main dealer? This is really bugging me now

no 1/ what name is on engine and why dont you go and just order from model shop like hobbythek germany.

no2/ if its carson more than likely its a german built solo engine which to best my knowledge is gone bust. so you need to get your hands on a solo supplier which would be as tricky as finding cuccu clock poo...

no3/ what i would do if i were you is just swap that engine with a zenoah 26cc which wouldnt break the bank and a pullstarter would prob cost 1/3rd of the price of it.........

a name and picture of the engine is always handy if your looking for help.

get us a pic or a name, you can surely find a name on that engine.

Well i have found out my engine has gone, as in broken lol.. It sucked up loads of dirt and there is no longer any compression and it sounds gritty when turning over.

My question now is, seeing as my engine is not shall we say normall ( ive been told its not a zen or cy) can i drop a zen or cy engine into my buggy (carson gas blaster) with keeping the same clutch i have on it?

In other words can i just lift me engine out and put a new/second hand one it? The model shop will do it for me i just need to buy one off of e-bay first...

If the pullstart mechanism you purchased did not fit your engine, then it was an old solo or even a g2d zenoah. The newer designed engines have larger flywheels and larger outer casing. Does your carson have a cut-out on the chassis for engine clearance near the pull-start location? If it doesn't (and I'm guessing it doesn't), you will need to (1) cut the clearance hole and buy a new "zenoah" engine mounts for your carson (as the one you have will not work with any of the newer engines.

I had this same issue when putting a new cy 29 in my old FG Beetle.

Looks like my solo engine. Regardless of the engine manufacturer, it uses the smaller solo mounts. To replace the engine with a new model (such as the zen or cy), you may need to enlarge the hole where your engine currently is closest to the chassis (test fitting will tell you). You will also need the new engine mounts. You shouldn't have to drill new engine mount holes.

This is probably a smartech engine I would guess. Anyway, If I was in your position, I'd buy a nice Zenoah 26 and be done with it.

You will still need the "zenoah engine mount". The duratrax firehammer one would work.

From the photos, they appear to be for the newer style engine, so they would work.
