Default found a deal,but wondering

hi guys
found a deal localy on a shengqi baja clone buggy,it has a 26cc piston upgrade on the stock 23cc,jetpro pipe,818 carb i think,8000rpm clutch, new tires, failsafe, aftermarket steering servo, and a couple more things and it goes for about $450 and can go lower, now what i was wondering about,is the can i change the diff to a hpi diff, and i mean the whole thing, and also can i change the whole radio box into a hpi box?
i know that most of the other parts are interchangable, but what about the these two?

You would need to get a whole new HPI Diff.

How much HPI parts do you have to put on a clone to make it reliable? From what little I read a lot. Please correct me if I am misinformed.

The only thing I have changed is the chassis cause I wanted it to be black. Then put a Dominator pipe and zen 26 cause I wanted more power. Everything else is stock. I have had some NASTY cartwheels and the only thing that has broken is the body.

In my opinion the weakest link in the clone bajas has to be the engines,

but i have upgraded alot of other stuff,

even had i bought the hpi baja i would have also upgraded the same parts,

hpi parts i have on my km baja is the ss engine and pipe, hd beadlocks and ss shock tower,
adjustable rear shocks and baja ss front shock pistons ,

i have also fitted,

tgn enclosed clutch housing,
hostile hobbies heat resistant spur gear,
turtle racing gearplate,
new km rear wheels with km sand paddles,
spare km rear wheels with hostile mx tires,
fitted missing bearing in gearbox,
proline desert rat body,
uber rc hardened pinion bolt,
outerwears pullstart and airfilter covers,
fail safe,
darksoul dogbone boots,
ddm longer lasting clutch,

with all the hop-ups and even a new 26cc cy motor im still not near out the cost of a standard hpi baja,

Almost the same stuff people have to change out in the HPI rtr. Only difference is with the KM you are starting out $500 cheaper. I think the trick in making the clone work out is to skip trying to make it into an HPI and when a part breaks go right to the high quality aftermarket stuff. At that point the playing field is level. I have done just that, and for the price of a stock HPI, I have a proline desert rat body, Proline wheels and tires, Hostile slicks, two engines, 7075 trans brace, enclosed clutch cover, fast eddy bearing set, complete bolt and screw set and several other minor things. My KM baja for me is bad to the bone, and moderate in cost. Of course mine cannot compare to the high end baja's costing $3,000 and up, but I just remember, I have this and for only the starting price of the HPI rtr.
