Default Spektrum DX3R Framerate question!

Hi i know this is realy a radio question but i have had no replies in that section, so i thought as it`s more common radio used in the largescale section heres my question!

Hi i have an MCD monster truck with 3 hitec largescale didgital servos, my question is do i need to have the frame rate on 5.5 which it suggests as i have a kill switch for my engine in the 3rd channel and when the frame rate is set to 5.5 it doesn`t work properly the LED just flashes i have to choose a different frame rate to make it work so am i ok with using a lower one?
Thanks
Guy

The DX3R is famous for its flaws with 3rd chanel as well.
Put the rate on 11ms and re-try.
If you can still swap it do so.
Sanwa M11 (if you want to keep the spread spectrum system) is one of the best you can get for LS.

Overview
Combining Spektrum’s industry-leading 2.4GHz DSM® technology with valuable telemetry features, the DX3S represents the most advanced sport-level DSM radio ever developed. RTR drivers and sport racers can add the safety of telemetry and monitor vital vehicle stats right from their transmitter, without any additional equipment. Keep your engine operating in the optimum temperature range, keep an eye on your battery voltage and check out just how fast your vehicle is running, all right from the large LCD readout of the DX3S.

* The typical telemetry range is 100–200 feet and will vary depending on the operating environment.

above is all the things the dx3s is capable of and was just wondering if the sanwa m11 can do all the same stuff i like the idea that the dx3s can tell you the temp of the motor and batt life of your hump pack and can also tell you the rpm's your motor is running at and how fast the car is going if the m11 can do that as well i think i might go that rout thank you for any help ....

Default RE: Spektrum DX3R Framerate question!

The M11 has all that except the telemetry functions.

http://www.airtronics.net/airtronics_M11.asp

M11 Features

* Throttle Tension Adjuster
* Vibrator function (Grip)
* Traction Control System
* ALB(Anti Lock Brake)
* Trim Position Adjust (5 Position)
* Steering Height Adjuster (2 Position)
* Trigger Tension Adjuster
* Brake mixing
* EXP can be added to the ARC adjustment
* Full Adjustable Rate Control
* Variable servo speed adjustment
* Servo Monitor
* 30 Model Memory

FHSS-2 Features

* High output power, full range, even on the water
* 100% Receiver-forward compatibility. All surface FHSS-2 receivers are compatible with all FHSS-2 transmitters. If you buy an MX-3, the receiver will be compatible with the M11 FHSS-2.
* Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) provides more security in harsh, crowded environments
* Fast refresh rate will make you feel “connected” to your car in a way only a digital signal can provide
* Same great, proven transmitter designs and programmability as the original MX-3 and M11 computer radios
* MX-3FG added feature: an easy-opening door on the front of the transmitter hides the binding button; now it’s much easier to set the transmitter-receiver radio link
* Small, lightweight receiver is compatible with all typical hobby servos, both analog and digital
* Transmitter/Module sets available to use in the M11, M8, and Exces radios. You can go with FHSS-2 2.4GHz in all of these Airtronics surface radios

All that telemetry stuff is more of a gadget rather then being usefull for us LS guys.
Go with something reliable and which does respond also quick on distance.
The M11 is for sure a good thing. The down side on the M11 is that it uses bit more power then for example a 3PK. But you can get nice Lipo packs for your radio so there you then are also sorted.
Or go with a normal x-tal. PCM is still a very reliable and fast system.
