if it fired when the choke was on, than you have gas and spark- squeeze your trigger to open the throttle a bit(BUT JUST A BIT)- is it cold where you are at? and have you run the baja in your climate before?

this helps too

Could be that it's flooded. Almost all of my new engines want to flood when I first start them.

i hope it's just flooded cause it was running amazing 2 days ago the store where i get my parts from told me to leave it sit with throttle wide open to let gas evaporate also told me to check spark plug, could be wet from flooding
but what i don't understand is why did it fire with choke on then again with choke off and then stall 1 sec. later and now i can't start it, it's been about 4 hr now im trying without taking sparkplug out to check for dampness

If it is getting too much fuel, causing it to flood, what I usually do is lean out the low speed needle until I can get it to start again. Then once you get it started and running richen it back as close to the stock settings without it stalling as you can.

is it possible my sparkplug is bad and is leaning it out when idle gets faster or slower ?

Like savagecommander said, your spark plug is probably fine, but if you want to check it, unscrew it from the cylinder head. While still attached to the coil touch the end of the spark plug to a metal part of the car (cylinder head or pipe usually works fine), and give the pull start a couple of yanks. If your spark plug is good, you'll see a nice little spark in the gap at the end of the spark plug.

As far as leaning goes, it is faster.

i pulled the spark plug out and at first it wasn't sparking but after wiping off the wetness from it i pluged it into coil and touched clylinder head with it while pulling the pull start and i saw spark so i put it back in and put choke on it fired up after 1 pull but when i turned choke off and tried starting again it was a no go so pulled out the plug again and noticed that it was all full of gas at tip where spark is so now im just leaving it sit for a few hours to let gas in cylinder evaporate, hopfully it will start any suggestions again on this would be greatly appreciated, also is it normal to see some moisture on plug by the way it was allblack aswell but afteri wiped it with a rag... like i said it started sparking again

Try resetting your carb,

it maybe getting too much fuel which is why it wont keep running,

to reset the carb turn the two screws on the side of the carb clockwise all the way in,
just until you feel a slight resistance, do not force them,

then turn each screw counter clockwise one and a quarter turns out, this is a good starting point on the cy engines,

if your baja does not start at these settings try and up the idle a little bit,

if that fails to start it maybe the spark plug is not sparking bright enough,

in this case you should replace the plug for a new one

i have another question, is it normal to see some moisture on tip of spark plug? and iv'e come to conclusion that i need a new spark plug cause now it won't spark at all  i check for spark by touching tip of plug to cylinder head while pulling on pull start and oh ya spark plug is pluged into coil while doing these steps yesterday i some spark and now it's 9hrs later i tried to start after leaving it sit all night  and still no go so pulled out spark plug again to check and see if it was sparking and to my surprise there was no spark

Get a new plug and with the plug out of the engine turn the car so the spark plug hole is facing the ground and pull the engine over a few times and see if it blows out excess fuel. It might be flooded and you have excess fuel and oil in the crank case. Then put in the new spark plug and try pulling it over a couple of times. Make sure you don't over choke the engine because it will flood it. To much gas on the plug will prevent it from starting.

No prob!

Be sure to get like a box of extra plugs, because once you get to thee point that you are pulling and pulling and pulling but no ignition, the plug becomes fouled from the charge richness during start up (namely becaue the choke is on and more fuel than air is going into the combustion chamber).

Nice thing about plugs is you can get them cheap at your local automotive store; better yet, gasser blugs are cheaper than nitro plugs in some auto stores!!!!

I would have changed the plug long before that
They are not all good right from new I have had a few 2 stroke plugs fail
Also check the gap on the spark plug I have had a few people tell me there's were way off

Do not need one as I do not have a RC business! By the way it is spelled guarantee. I do know HPI has GREAT customer service as I have been running there vehicles for over 10 years.

As for an RC that does not start, would you be willing to do customer service and help the noob troubleshoot?
I bet if this guy called HPI, HPI would help him troubleshoot his RC and help him get it started and going.
He is here first because he actually wants to learn how to get his RC started and we are helping him. But if everything we do to help him is not enough, I have no doubt that HPI will fix his problem; even replacing the entire engine if need be.

As for replacing a bad plug on a new RC, if one of your RCs you sold had a bad plug, would you take the time to replace that bad plug for your customer?
