Default MCD Toe In question!

Is it normal for MCD`s to have a massive amount of toe in when you push the suspension all the way down?
When i have my racerunner off of the ground on a stand the wheels are straight then once it`s put on the ground it has slight toe in, but when
i push down on it so the chassis nearly touches the floor the toe in seems extreme is this normal?
Thanks in advance
Guy

Toe-in on the front and rear end?? Who knows I have a MCD Rally and my assembly instructions were very vague. I went out in my workshop and pressed on my suspension and I did not notice an increase in toe end. If your car handle good I would not worry about it maybe it was designed to work that way???

Yeh, it's normal, and it's caused by the fact that the steering arms are pushing the sides out. I guess he means front. You should always set geometry with the suspension under normal load.

By the way, one degree of toe out each side at the front. 2 degrees toe in each side at the back. Nice turn in, and reasonable straight line stability.

Front/rear, makes no difference. Same thing, the rear has 'steering arms' as well, just they're fixed solid. It's normal because the length of the arm changes at a different rate than these braces.

Borley try an experiment on your road course run your car with reduced toe in observe how it handles and have some one time you , then adjust your toe in back to its original setting run the same course again observe how your car handles , have someone time you compare the results to see which setup is the fastest and handles the best.

So Foxy you are saying that the MCD chassis has a slightly reactive suspension that changes a little under compression??

Hi Foxy, don`t know if it`s your settings as i can see them on my PC, which doesn`t mean other people can see them, but just looked at my ipod touch and they are displaying them on there as well when i view this site.
Anyone else not seeing them?
Thanks
Guy

Guy, if set up correctly there should be only a minimal change in the geometry under full compression -

As they say a picture speaks a thousand words thanks Clive The turnbuckle mounted from the chassis to the hub was mounted on top of my hub lol
Once put underneath the hub problem solved. I did buy it 2nd hand and stripped it and i thought put it back together the same, so may of been my fault , probably was.
Many thanks again, thank god for these forums

i took a look through and see only 3 threads regarding the mcd,

each threads are 10 days apart,

hardly what people would call spamming

As sparky says my threads are qite far apart i wouldn`t start a new thread when i have multiple threads on the same page like some.

but reading the thread you obviously had a unique and lejit problem.....

so moral of my post is thats what the forums are for i guess.nothing wrong with putting up a thread.
some people prefer reading through a short new thread than 100page long one.....

best of luck sorting it out

I can see the pics now, don't know why I couldn't before.

Anyway, yeh, that is definitely not normal. There must be something wrong with those linkages.
