CY is no longer considerd a clone of Zehn..
Chung Yang is their own motor company
He built these motors to have a better price and great performance to Zehn

Iagree, the CY is a fantastic engine. Some people talk about how reliable engines are in terms of gallons. Ihave two CY engines here that have more hours than Ican count on them and they run great with perfect compression. The chrome in the bores is perfect with no flaking. A well-maintained CY will run for years. Just use good oil(I only run Alisyn ProPower 21).

RE: King Motor T1000 Baja Truck
Soooo,
I picked up my T1000 tonight from Dan!
First Dan is cool and a good distributor for KM if you need parts and hop ups call him he will take care of you.
Second the T is impressive in it's size and the quality seems ok from my first overview. I will be taking care of some know week points and detailing my experience with the KM T1000 on my blog spot soon as I have some HPI friends interested to see the KM; LOL.
Compared to all the HPI T's I've been around this truck looks good. The packaging is better than most low priced 1/5th scale I've seem as well. Time will tell if I got a good motor or not.

Have a look on this thread for my swaybar fix and also pull start fix, easy as to do.
Take it easy on the engine in the first two tanks and break it in, despite all the haters of this engine there is nothing wrong with them if run in correctly.
I still have not had my diff apart (now done nearly 20 tanks) but I do intend having a look soon.
Radio gear needs throttle limited back to about 50% to reduce strain on the servo and while you are at it you might aswell fit a pico.

I have been paying attention the the issues on this truck so I am prepared!
You are right about the servos, but also re-torque the screws with thread lock so they are not too tight which also adds strain on the servos...

RE: King Motor T1000 Baja Truck
My truck has been totally reliable, engine screams now!
A couple of the shocks started to leak but some better o rings fixed those, I also run ATF oil in the shocks.
Glued the rear foams on the rims as they were beginning to wander around a bit, just finised installing bicycle inner tube over the rear axles (covers both axles and dog bone in one section) so we'll see how long that lasts.
The stock boots chew out in the first couple of tanks, have run with them torn for a while now but still no wear on the pins or outdrives.

don't just say someone did a bad job breaking in the motor that caused a km failure and call them haters [:-]

RE: King Motor T1000 Baja Truck
well, not my enginethats for sure. Any brand of engine can have problems, its all possible.
Another successfull tank this afternoon, looks like my $2.90 innertube axle boots rock. No signs of them coming off or splitting.

well, took my baja truck to a local track in the next town over and entered it in the race.
i raced the slash & baja truck race. i was the only clone baja out there too. i've raced one time before
with my slash out there. and this time was my first time ever driving a baja truck because i just got it.
out come was really bad,

RE: King Motor T1000 Baja Truck
i went unprepared and made no adjustments to it. ran it right out of the box. did change the shock oil thats all.
my km body is almost broke in half, sterring servo was locking up on me, the rear shocks blew out, and the front body post mounts are broke. maybe cause it was like 35 degrees out.
like i said, i never even adjusted nothing on it or had it in dirt yet, i think i ran like right at 1 tank full of gas before this. in the yard.
sorry km guys, i'll have my stuff right next time.
but i do have pictures of it.
