Cool I would'nt have thought that they would sell real 1/5 cars in a walmart. I wonder if they sell it in Canada too? I'll have a look on the site.

Why is this a warning?

Its pretty cool to see Wal-mart sell real RC's I know Toys-r-us has some RC's like Traxxas.

I would disagree. I highly doubt that walmart is going to stock all spare parts needed for the monster/expensive vehicle. I think if anything will happen it will boost the LHS's income.

Yeah , but heavy enough to cause some real damage. Most 4 years lack the maturity to safely run something that big and heavy.

Those days were over for me once the internet came around. The last time I was inside a good hobby shop was like in the mid '90s. It just doesn't pay to go to a local shop anymore.

Someone sign in over at the Wal-Mart site and ask if they will carry spare parts. I highly doubt you will be able to walk into a store and pick up parts for it, they don't have parts for anything else do they? Just another way for them to kill out the small guys and make a buck without conscience or after sale support.

There is a note on the page that states, "Sold and Shipped by: CSN Stores.com ". This means that Wal Mart is not actually selling the cars. It is more of a consignment process. Apparently, Wal Mart gets a percentage for allowing other retailers to sell through their web page ordering system.

internet definately killed hobby shops years ago. I stopped going into them because I cant stand the 14yr old retards that work there and cant get you a part unless you have a part number or give the model of car you want. The last time I went in, I just needed some 1/10 onroad shocks with threaded bodies for a custom project. I was hassled because I was not using it on a specific model. I told the kid, to just show me what 1/10 scale shocks he had. He showed me ONE set and said thats all they had. This is the largest hobby shop in southern california... The time before this, they did not even know what a clodbuster was?!?

well I really do not even have a hobby shop by me (it is a MINI mart) and it about 20 miles away and there is nobody to even help you[] and the stuff they do carry it is mostly airplane parts, and nothing for the the cars I do have(hpi baja or ae sc10) it is traxxas based and if you do need help there is 2 girls helping people checking people out with gas pumps etc, and if you ask them to help in the the hobby section they give you the big sigh and "what do you want" cause we do not know anything in that part of the mini mart..so it is not even worth the drive out there to buy anything..

Sounds a bit like my local shop.
They only know what's in the box and any other questions has them stumped.
The amount of times I've asked them to get a price on basic things like wheelsquares etc and they have to "ring up and get a price" and say they're gonna get back to me and never do.

Their Hitec servos are twice as much as what I paid online.

Last time I was in there the young bloke was driving one of those annoying tanks around (complete with engine noise) shooting foam darts at the display cabinets.
I felt like stomping on it with my size 12 boot.

I'm never going back there again.
