Yeah i know the link doesn't work here... WHY.. who knows.. just go to my home page and click on the link there...

The HEMI will run on alcohol,,

Hemispherical combustion chamber, 3 angle valve seat, 0.5 intake, 0.435 exhaust, 19.5.1 compression.
Hemispherical pistons, 1.0625 bore, 0.9165 stroke
Solid lifters
2.70625 deck block
57.5* 60* 0.1625 blower cam

Just to name a few specs guys... I'll be creating a complete specs as well as flow chart on it within a few months... I apologize for the altered pics... I'm currently designing a custom watermark for my pics... once i get it done I'll post them for you all to check out...

Thanks for the compliments guys..

Well i received the pistons/rods/valves/valve retainers/rocker arm shafts/rockers/pushrods/ pushrod guide & cups from being heat treated yesterday so i should have at least one set of heads assembled within a few days or soo.. I'll take some highly detailed shots of them then. I've also got the watermark done for them soo they will be clear... here are a few altered shots...

BTW... the head in this shot is scrap... That's why it looks so rough... I had a boo boo while face milling it... woops....

Amazing man, but can you take better pics they are just a little whited out.

My big inquisition is: are you actually going to run it for more the 20 seconds at a time? Or be like every one ells and through it on the shelf and talk about it? LOL

Now, now....I hope you don't mean we're crapping on about shelf queens
I will be running, just as soon as I am sure nothing will stuff up.
like other home builders, we take the time to make sure all is good, as there are no off the shelf spares if something was to go pear shaped.

If you build it, they will come

we're in a different predicament to multinational companies with bucks to throw around, and production schedules to meet, and staff on hand to resolve problems in team environments.

Patience my friend

No, No man, I am not beating on you at all and sorry if I came off that way (I didn't mean too) But every single V8 I have ever seen some one make they run it for 20 seconds and then shut it down. [][:-]

i finally got around to start the machining process on the blower pulleys... I've got the top pulley cut and face milled. I'm going to locate the center and bore it to the desired specs next, I will then drill the 6 mounting holes.. I'll post additional pics as i progress on them..

Stoney, posting the images inverted offers you virtually zero protection and just makes it harder for thread readers. I simply used Photoshop to reverse the inversion. You would be better off to just open the image in Paint and type a copyright statement on the image, as per the example.

Actually if you take a closer look at my recent images you can clearly see i inserted a Copyright logo in place of the .com within my watermark..

Well i did manage to get the crank pulley machined as well... I'll attempt to bore them and drill the mounting holes next weekend hopefully... Once i get that step done I'm going to face mill them once again... most likely with the fly cutter...

I'll update this tread next weekend folks!

Amazing QSP, that is very nice, but you never did answer my question: will you run it when it is finished?

Default RE: ' Project' Quarterscale Blown HEMI..

Thanks!

Yes i plan on running it... I also plan on producing a few different styles of the hemi.. Blown, Non-Blown, Tunnel Ram.. Etc Etc... I am also working on a small block design... It will be called mighty mouse.. LOL... I've been working on these designs for about 7 years on and off... unfortunately i just have much free time these days to work on them like i would like to... This quarterscale hobby is last on my list to do as far as that goes... I also have a real drag racing car I'm working on and had hoped to have it ready for this season... But once again.. Don't have the free time to work on it as i would like to either.

Once i get the first engine built I'm going to be doing allot of testing on it. I will also be taking quite a few videos of it on the engine stand as well as in the Beretta... And last but not least... YES.. I will be running the engine longer than 10 seconds like you see in some of these 1/4 scale engine videos out there... I would love to have the time to build a miniature dyno for my testing... But that ain't going to happen!!

Thanks again
Stoney

Thank you for the answer Stoney!

It makes me excited that you will be ruining it for more the 10 seconds at a time. LOL I can't wait to see it when it is done.

Thanks guys... Well i still haven't got around to machining the centers on the pulleys yet... I ordered a new 6'' H/V rotary table to do jobs like this on... so once i get it and get it all set up I'll Get errrr Done!!!

However.. I did manage to get the majority of the machine work done on the 1/4 scale wooden engine stand I'm designing... I plan on producing these in aluminum in the near future... My primary reason of building one from wood first was to make sure it looked the correct scale... As many of you know... There are some things that can't be scaled down by simply dividing the dimensions by 4.. But in my case that's actually what i did and the scale is right on the money... I scale it from the old engine stand in our old basement... I did put together a short video on it as well... Don't mind the audio editing guys,,, or should i say lack of..

I'll also put together a long version of it together with all the machining steps in a week or so...

Well i took the time and put together a slide show on the engine stand... I'll be putting together a few videos on the aluminum machining process as soon as i get the new H/V rotary table.. I also need to purchase a hot booting fire wire card for this new computer before i can upload them... I haven't a clue how to install the 1394 fire wire software... Should be quite interesting..
