alright well im having some problems... i have everything hooked up and it works great untill i start the engine.... then the servos just start twitching and doing what they want.... what can i do to fix this problem??? im a DX3.0 and for the battery to power the servos im using a 2s 7.4v lipo with a 6v losi reducer to lower the voltage since the servos say they are 6.0 max

Ooo.....
Interference? []

From what I've been told a spark plug marked "R" might reduce that.
And placing the electronics as far away from the motor as possible....

yes, resistor spark plug sounds like the problem, champion plugs are the easiest to see if they have a resistor or not as the part number shown on the side starts with a R like RCJ8Y and the such, if you have a few extra small two stroke engines around they all can use the same plugs (generally), just see if another one has a resistor plug...

alright, i got the first test run in a while back, just finally got a video up for you guys. Sorry for bad quality but it was taken with a camera phone.

So im happy with the drive, got the chain falling off issues sorted out, but not happy with the steering. it steers on dirt fine but wont steer on the asphalt for anything. I think its because the stock powerwheels steering is to sloppy, so no im going to build the rest of the frame and make the steering smoother hoping it will solve that problem. May even add some suspension since ill have her all apart. Then ill add some paint and see what we got....

and ill try to keep some updates on here as we go.

heres the video www.youtube.com/watch

The solid axle will make it drive on and not steer. The inside trye needs to turn slower than the outside in a corner. Maybe try slick tyres for on road but you need a diff setup or just drive one back wheel, but then it won't be as much fun in the dirt.
Just my 2c worth.

With the correct setup of the front wheels the car will still steer good without a diff.

Look in to this a bit:

Line up the steering knuckles and tierod ends with the centre of the rear axle for the best turning circle.

Here's how well my solid axle car steers after setting it up according to the picture above:

Single wheel drive is not good as you'll be forever figthing the car's urge to pull to one side. []

DVP nice info, thats all interesting to know, and good video car looks good.

I do understand that the solid axle is going to want to push through the turn, but it needs both wheels to drive it especially since i use her in the sand.
Sorry for not making it clear in the beginning, but when the wheels turn it does steer fine, there is just A LOT of slop in the camber of the front end and just slop in general in the front, i guess the plastic is just worn, so it seems to be making it twice as hard for the servos to turn the tires (more noticeable on the hi traction asphalt) but still a problem in the dirt. with just the slightest weight taken off those 2 servos can rip the tires from side to side, so i dont think its a power issue just the slop making the front a little tight to steer at times.

so im going to go ahead and just build the front, for a few reasons, to tighten everything up and get better steering and add some support to it as well.

i do like the info just posted about the steering so i am going to set it up in that configuration and see how everything works out.

(ill see if i can get a video of the slop to see if that helps out any)

cool man! i definitely think she needs suspension. on top of a smoother ride it would also absorb some of the down force in back when on the gas and allow the front wheels to drop and stay on the ground. it looks like she wants to lift the front outside tire when turning and on the gas. any ways it looks fun! good luck and keep us posted[8D]
