FG Monster on gravel and sand!
I did some driving today with my FG on a gravel/sand track. Nothing fancy just some cones put out together on some gravel and sand. I have just recently rebuilt my diff with thicker oil (50.000) and as you can see it gives good traction on the sand but becomes much more slippery on the gravel.

1st, thats a great vid!
2nd, if i had that truck thats the way i would want it to drive. it looks sweet how the rear end kicks out alittle. makes it so you can drift just a little!

RE: FG Monster on gravel and sand!
nice run you got there (racers standpoint)
i would say that your weakest link in that entire race truck is between your tires and your suspension....
little lighter oil in the rear shocks and thicker in the front (will help handle those bumps better as well as keeping the ass end planted a little better) (i may have it backwards im tired as L)
as well if you use it for racing in those conditions some tires with some more bite yeah rooster tails look cool but they are just showing a lack of power transfer to the ground....

RE: FG Monster on gravel and sand!
can you not get a rebuild kit with a dampener blank you can customize? if you cant get a blank "blank" just drill out the holes a little more and change out oils till you find a happy medium (shocks are setup to absorb large jumps and not "whoopties")
also inclining the shocks some will also help with this
making the shock more verticle will help with the dampening but will decrease stability...

No, just as Lars says the original gear cover wont fit on a two speed set up. There is however special gearcovers that will fit:
