Default 5B SS or 5T?

well ive been thinking about getting one of these two but i just cant decide which one i should go for. if anyone owns one or both give me a comparison and some pros and cons. If a 5T SS comes out befor i get the money to buy one im for sure getting it but as of right now im stuck between the 2. I will mainly be bashing so im looking for durability handling and an overall fun factor. oh and btw im open to any other suggestions on brands im not 100% set on hpi so im open for suggestions

well basically they are the same.
the difference i see is the 5t has different wheels and bigger tires, side pods to attach the body,a little different roll cage top, front bumper is much bigger.
oh and the 5t only comes with the box can exhaust where the 5b ss has the pipe.
as far as handling i like the 5t better plus it has better ground clearance due to the wheels and tires.

T all the way!!!! As stated, it has more ground clearance, handles better, looks better, handles jumps MUCH better, when you roll it 9 times out of 10 it will land on it feet, and your shocks and towers are protected with the body unlike the buggy. I think you would enjoy the truck much more.

go with the 5t.
the kaylee is too new and has issues that need to be fixed before they can be reliable.
the 5t has a proven track record. 5t parts and hopups are everywhere.
can't say the same for the kaylee.
ya 4x4 would be nice but if you have to put a ton of money into it to get it reliable you could just buy an fg or mcd.

Alot of HPI parts work on the Kaylee and from what I have seen they are no worse than a stock SS or 5t. If Scott@ZerogravityRC says hes going to get the kinks out of the ones hes ordering then they will be a very solid 4wd machine.

Forget the Baja.
Go buy the Sand Storm from Nutech for REALLY REALLY Cheap at ZeroGRavityRC. You want a 5T style truck? 669 gets you 4wd and a REALLY durable truck.

I'm not trying to promote Nutech like mad... It's just Scott's 669 price is crazy! It costs as much as the Savage Flux I just bought
Plus I loved my MMT while I had it. I miss it My Savage Flux sucks in comparison.

Plus with the money you save you can buy Hitec 5745 servos (2 of them) and a JetPro pipe!

wow i see people pushing the nutech like crazy.
as far as i can see it's nothing more than a re-badged smartec which is junk.
just because it's new and cheap doesn't mean squat to me.
once they have been around 4-5 yrs and have proven themselves then i'll look closer at them.

Wrong not a rebadged smartech, it actually has improvements. IT has better (WAY BETTER) diffs that actually HOLD up, it is very durable, the plastics are excellent quality, and the MMT was very well balanced in the air. Strong Transmission gears too. Only thing that was weak on my MMT were the Diff cups (they warped a little bit quicker than I liked) and horrible stock servos. Also the turning radius is pretty terrible unless you replace the front dog bones with CVDs then the turning radius issue is resolved. I owned a MMT with a JetPro pipe and it was ROCK solid. Thoroughly impressed by Nutechs product.
