Default 5b ss will not start

my dad went to run his 5bss today, and it wouldn't start at all, normally it starts on the second pull. we checked it, and it still is getting spark, and we reset the gap. so any help will be appreciated

Try using the choke? Fueled and primed properly?

whenever my baja refuses to start i:
A. set carb to factory setting.
B. make sure engine is not flooded. if it is, close low speed needle, start the engine, and open the valve back up before it stalls out.

after that, it usually starts. if it doesnt, replace spark plug. and make sure it is getting fuel.

if that fails, their is usually more problems with the carb or engine.

try a few drops of fuel down in to the carb to see if its fuel or compression related if your getting spark its either fuel or compression related.....

if you get ignition of the fuel (well full ignition and running for a few seconds) its fuel related if not its compression related

yes, always use the choke on the first pull, then we turn the choke off, and it starts right up usually. the prim bulb has fuel in it like normal

its almost ALWAYS the spark plug. these 23cc trucks use such a high oil content, that i find the plugs foul a lot faster than most other 2 strokes. keep a pile of them on hand always, and always check That first, because even if the plug Looks like its sparking, and not fouled, it can still be bad.
