It would be difficult for me to add anymore praise than what everyone else has said, but I'll try. :)
From a machining standpoint, your craftsmanship is top row. You can take a lot of pride in the knowledge that your hard work has paid off and the project is clearly in the final stages. From a design standpoint, it seems flawless. I love the attention to detail meant for a high end rc model and hope it will find a home in a museum or something. As a previous posted commented, in this age of digital instant gratification it is hard to find someone with the obvious patience to create such a fine piece of art. On the body layup, it looks like you had a very thick coat of gelcoat, but I wasnt sure if you used fiberglass for the body or something else. You had mentioned CF at one point. I also thought your solution for a muffler was very clever and may try something similar for an rc motorcycle project. You dont need a wrap of mesh around the baffle? Anyway, just wanted to chime in and say yes, this is a great work. Thanks for sharing. Chris |

I build this project and always I had in my mind the race and not the 'storage' as unique piece. If I could make one, the first, I could make and the second , the third ...... and maybe to better edition.Making the project using jigs to all parts , takes a good product and spare parts for it easy (?).I'll keep one into my living room as a memory to my declining years .:) I dont see the time that my son, the driver of the team, will run it into the track.There is a crash risk but my pleasure is to the big smile on my son's face and a good running (...if ) car from my hand. The dyeing gives the depth queuing ,I thing and not a thick gelcoat.Exactly the opposite. The gel coat is very thin to this body but you cannt see it now because of primer and color on it. You are right about a wrap of mesh around the baffle.I want to hear the sound at 10.000ram and if it will be troublesome I can use wrap then. The muffler could reopen from 2 sides,unscrewing 2 screws. Vass |

Quality, design and fabrication of this one is perfect. This is a textbook example how anyone should do this kind of a job. I really liked the sound of your exhaust.

Vassili perfect work my friend!The car is spectacular!I love the exhaust,you managed to produce that heavy sound that i like and it's too difficult to achieve from a 2 stroker;)
I cant believe you are making this beauty with just simple tools and machines....I mean,imagine what you would achieve if you have professional tools,a whole factory with top notch cnc machines and operators!!! Damn!!Guys like you should work in FG/HPI/HARM or even better have their own companies!!You would have made us,rc enthusiasts,far happier:D Keep up the excellent work Vassili and i WILL sometime come down there to see the magic in person!:D |

After the firsts running, I saw that there are some 'bad' vibrations. I didnt like it and thought to make a second plate, engine only , on dampers.
After the test with dampers I can say that its mutch better, but there are more vibrations than a 26cc engine. Older Moto Guzzis
used weights in the end of handle bars to reduce the BUZZ from engine/frame vibrations. Harley's used rubber engine mounts to reduce buzz from engine RPM to frame vibrations . Is that what your talking about? tap |

Vass is your exhaust system mouted solid?Meaning the header and pipe welded right to the exhaust like one peice and solidly mounted? If so, that's were your problems of excessive vibrations might be coming from. If you do the exhaust in 2 pieces adding a rubber coupler somewhere in between might help also. I'm suggesting this because i really can't tell from the pictures. I had a similar problem with one of my projects only to figure this out later down the road. After the engine case had cracked as well as the intake on the motor. Just a suggestion.

Well if Vass has mounted rubber isolators to the engine so I quess he has done that for the exhaust too. In any case the pipe "end mounts" need to be able to flex as the chassis will flex and because the heat expansion also takes place in the exhaust. Material thickness and contours in the mount itself play big part whether the exhaust stays intact or not. It's always good to make the mount in the expansion direction, not 90 degrees across it.

Exaust have 3 pieces. To the engine ( inox), the middle (aluminum ) and the final (aluminum).

Because I didnt ask too much power from this engine.I think that the 45 cc gives smoothly power , without 'falsetto' of 2 stroke. And for British GT, is that I would like. 45cc want a huge expansion chamber , to put into this body. |

Did you consider using two 23cc pipes? For instance two Dominator V1 or V2? They would work with only one header pipe with a Y-connector. And that setup would not take too much space and would support your twin exhaust outlet too.

With 2-stroke pipes the main things are inner volume and cone reflection angle. I think it would work. The engine does not care if the reflection pulse comes out from one pipe or two pipes. Volume would be very close and reflection angle and performance of Dominators are well known. That engine with twin Doms would be very high rev peaky but you already have the torque from bigger displacement engine so most likely you would have very wide usable powerband with very high peak horsepower with that kind of a setup. This is only my opinion.
