Scale question
Ok I'm basing my project off of tires on my towtruck the dolly tires they are 16 inches tall. The heavy duty wrecker I'm doing the project on has 40 inch tires. Do I divide 40 into 16 and get 2.5 and just take every measurement on the truck divide it by 2.5 and that's my measurement for my project build

RE: Scale question
Just divide everything by the ratio if the tires.
|
RE: Scale question
Ok can you explain that alittle bit better can you break it down for me
|
RE: Scale question
The tires are 2.5 times smaller, so everything else is 2.5 times smaller.
|
RE: Scale question
So I was right take all the measurements on the real truck put them in inches n divide by 2.5
|
RE: Scale question
that is very cool idea kinda like what i am building ...but what kind of engine are you going to use
|
RE: Scale question
i was going to use a 10 hp briggs and stratton engine
|
RE: Scale question
It's a 24volt wheelchair motor it weighs about 16 pounds. What are you building and how big
|
RE: Scale question
Those wheelchair motors have serious torque.
|
RE: Scale question
If the rig is base on something with 40in wheels, I'd say torque is what it's all about. Huge wheels ROCK!
|
RE: Scale question
... wheel chair motors ...are very powerful for how small they are ...but they need very heavy batteries which kind of sucks ... I am useing a 40+ pound briggs and stratton to make myself an R/C Demoltion derby car ...and yes i all the parts in a big pile and i am starting a frame ...but i and computer challenged and do not know how to post pictures
