RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

I've not seen Bergonzoni so I can't comment, but as for H.A.R.M, FG, Lauterbacher and Technokit They are all Damn good cars and in the serious world of the motorsport have all done well. A lot has to be said for the cars themselves but also the drivers, The current world champion, Ian Oddie has been instrumental in changing many of the cars he's driven as a works driver. He's an excetionally clever guy and to watch him drive you'd think - put some radio kit on a skate board and he'll win. That said people like Hessel Roskam and Markus Feldman are also up at the top (Hessel was world champ 2003) in the US you've got another world class H.A.R.M team driver in Eric Poholski. The European champs are on from next week and if you look at the EFRA web site then you'll see all the top drivers and cars.

I've not gone into too much detail about the cars because Ididn't want to sound bias but I drive an FG Evo 4 and I think it's the mutts nuts.

I've had 4 Bergonzonis, and i still have 2, that car in those pics is a really nice starter car, the Boss engine is very reliable. Parts can be hard to comebuy in the states, but i know of a couple dealers in the UK that told me they will get me whatever i want. And i talked to Dynamic Racing, and the woman told me just e-mail them, they will put the parts together i need, and send them to me directly. no middleman.
GBDirect in FLA has tons of parts also, but he can be tough to get ahold of.

I have run a Stock FG, and i think the Berg has a little more getup and go, but the FG can out handle it. Are you going to race? or just run around a parking lot? The Berg is a great parking lot car, the most fun is trying to keep control at WOT.....:D

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

Been thinking about racing. But in Michigan there is little onroad as far as i can see and it doesnt appear to be any 1/5th going on at all. I have hopes to change some of that in my area. so as exciting and fun racing would be, i think i ll kind of be on my own unless i decide to start working on sponsership and start traveling, and major roadtripping just ISNT in my agenda right now. i have a kid in JR HIGH this yr so it looks like it will be some parkinglots unless i find others in the state AND a place to go.. i ve got the sweetest parkinglots in my area. just need the compitition.

I have a harm audi with front brakes and i love it. It is too fast! The tires are hard compound so you have to heat them up. Untill they are hot the car looks and feels like a drifter down to the smoke. It is motor smoke not tire smoke but it is awesome. The slab of alli the car is based on seems twice the thicknes of my 5b. I would go so far as to say I like it as much as my 5b. I bought the harm on ebay for half the price of new and got a car that looked to be run a hand full of times. I have had it a year and still enjoy it.

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

yea the Baja is a 4mm chassis and the Berg is an 8mm chassis. this ones been lightened form the factory before it shipped here to the us... im loving my Baja:D, one broke front shock shaft and a Tx/Rx issues, so i have a new Spektrum arriveing tomorrow, the Baja will get one rx and now the Berg will get the 2nd, ill use my JR XS3 Pro on the CT5 and the racer Maxx im putting back together. and if this Berg handles ANYTHING similar to my CEN CT5 1/10 Sedan, and runs as simpy as the 5B, illa be as happy as a pig in ****.

i ended up getting it for 675.00. i can meet the guy ( we both live in Mi) to pick it up tomorrow evening but i dont think tomorrow evening will work for me as i got kidlet duties, unless i can get here to go witt. i ll prolly have him USPS Priority to me. it will only take a day to go. i went out priceing things in the last week i seen it and to get one new was about a grand, without all the upgraded he did and the beefed out Boss Motor.

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

Hungates is a regional hobby chain in North Carolina. They have a Bergonzoni in the display case. It had an unpainted shell and I can't remember if it had a radio (probably not). I just called to check the price - $579 USD.

I also have no idea if the specs of your new car are different than the one at Hungates. The people at that store barely know how to run the cash register so getting details regarding the model would be futile.

Greensboro is getting a HobbyTown USA just down the street from my house. It's amazing given the size of Greensboro that we don't have one decent hobby shop. While I don't like big chain stores like this maybe it will be a good source for stock Firehammer parts. I'm sure I will have to order them but maybe I can save on shipping.

Is that pipe a standard feature? I don't remember the Berg at Hungates having a pipe? Darn, I might have to go over and have another look at it. :D

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

No, that is Bergs performance pipe, its a great pipe, BUT i had a problam with mine, that if i got to rich of an oil mixture, the exit is right under the car, and the tire will spin on oil, makes for an interesting run.

Timmahh 07-02-2006 10:17 AM

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

heh, yes thats the tuned performance pipe. the stocker is a bit smaller louder and black in color.. im amazed at how QUIET it really is, i expected it to be more throaty sounding but really it sounds like a *****cat.. very quite imo. im going to go out and play around with it for a bit. considering its sat for a yr or two, i need to do a lil maintenance. then im gonna reset the carb ( ? for ya No Moa, what would be a good place to start with the pipe on there, 1 and 1/2 out on L and about the same on H or something else, i just doubt 1 1/4 stock settings would be very good to start with) mix up some 50:1 and see how she goes. but i also need to get a servo horn on the front disks brakes, and fiddle with one of the rear disk brakes thats not quite right. im hopeing to be able to get it running well. if i do, my daughter and i may take it and go along the parade route with it.

I'll check my settings, i don't know what mine are. i run 40/1 mixture, its pretty good, not to oily. But plenty of lubrication.

Thanx NoMoa, i appreciate it. with no manual im kinda shooting in the dark from time to time.
i just checked mine. must of been messed with a while back, it was on l about 2 out and only 5/8ths maybe on H. i just reset them both to 1 1/2 to start with i used some 40:1 but man was it smokey. seems rich in the mix but i have 3/4 gallon i ll run thru it, then put in a new plug and go 50:1.

RE: Bergonzoni FG Harm and other On Roads.

i just started it up tonight and should be set for a run tomorrow, ran the rest of 1/2 qrt out and will run at 50:1 tomorrow. spooled up really nicely on the stand ( 5 gallon bucket. lol) and the brakes stopped the rear wheels ok. but i wasnt able to roll the car forward with the front brakes applied. so that sould be adjusted. still looking for a downloadable manual. heh, ran across this thread while googleing.lmao
