Samba Pipe? Need some input.

I am thinking of getting a Samba pipe for my FG Baja and was hoping someone has experience with the Samba pipe for the Marder [link]http://www.modelcargo.com/main.php?mod=page&num=34&dep=samba[/link]. Has anybody installed one on an FG Baja? Also I would like to know if the people who have used this pipe were happy with its performance. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Samba Pipe? Need some input.

I had a Samba on my Firehammer buggy, it was alright. But compared to the the FG pipe is was pretty lame. It's fairly quiet, I can't say if it's a low/mid or hi end pipe because it was'nt for me. The FG pipe had gobs of power down low with really good mid/top performance as well. The DDM pipe I tried is good for mid to hi end but performed a little better than the samba on the low. Put it this way the Samba is better than the stock can, the FG was a really good all around pipe and the DDM is good for mid to high. I also had a samba pipe for my Baja 5b as well and that was a disappointment as well. GTW the FH I was running an ONB 29cc.

Thanks for your input. I already have the FG tuned pipe, it came with my Baja Comp and if I understand you correctly you had better success with the FG pipe over the Samba? I do have a Dominator top end pipe that I used on my Firehammer MT, I guess I will give it a try next. Thanks again.

I would take a second look at the Samba pipe, years ago samba was not to good. But years have past and they have improved there products. The Best advice I could give is monitor the racing scene, look at what most of the people are using and there you will find your answer. The racers are timing their cars to the 100th of a second I would trust what a large group of racers is using the very best, based on the results.

Doubt it. Their ONROAD pipes are supposedly great. But if you look at their offroad pipes they all look the same from the end of the header forward. Looks like they use the same design but change out the back end to suit what ever vehicle it needs to be for.

I have heard nothing but good about RN tuning pipes (Fat power and their Magic bullit) unfortunately no one in the USA stocks them. They are already big money to begin with, and the additional costs of having it shipped in would only make it more expensive. I want to try their Magic Bullit for my MCD RR, but i'll wait to see if I can get a 2nd hand one off of some one or some place.

I think these are the best pipes out there at moment. i think after paying out all the money for a 5th scale buggy you should finish the job with a bit of class. I had to wait about a year before i bought my samba F1 MCD on road pipe for the race runner, i heard it was one off the best and i had to import it from the USA, pro 5th scale got for me. :D;) Theres an old saying, you get what you pay for!!!!

I'd pay the money for the RN pipe for sure, I just can't justify the cost of shipping from overseas.

I am using the Samba Marder pipe for my FG Monster, and I love it. First of all, the pipe looks awesome (if you buy the chrome one) and it fits like a glove, so you don`t need to redrill any holes or cut of any plastic braces (like you have to on the Dominator). The only thing you have to do is to protect it from a screw on the brace (you see it on one of my pictures). Second of all it sounds fantastic. Not as loud as Jetpro or Dominator but it is enough loud for you to love it. Almost like a 2 stroke poket bike. Thirdly (do you say this in US?), it perfoms fantastic. It is a mid- high pipe but it still gives you plenty of power from bottom. I drove with my friend a couple weeks ago and he has a FG Monster with a CY 29 and Jetpro and that thing didn`t perform better than my Zenoah 26 CC with the Samba. Here is some pictures and two movies:

So to sum it up: GO OUT AND BUY THE SAMBA. YOU WON`T BE DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!! :):):):)

RE: Samba Pipe? Need some input.

I just had to make some comments about the RN Tuning pipe. I ordered one in February 2008 (RN Tuning Fat Monster power Exhaust) and in june I still hadn`t got it. I e- mailed them several times and the answer I always got was that the pipes will come. Just wait a few weeks. Eventually I cancelled the order and ordered a Samba instead. I even noticed that a couple of shops on the Internet eliminated them from the site due to delievery problems. I don`t think they have made the delivery yet. So if you will have your pipe this year, order something else.

I have used the RN sx pipe on my Hormann HT2 Evo

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...Picture009.jpg

Quite a good pipe can get very loud had to repack the silencer every 3 races.

But i now use a converted Samba 3 pipe.

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...Picture053.jpg

In my opinion a much better pipe for racing, Gives a much smoother power delivery and a better top end speed.
