What servo is better?? Hitec 5745 or futaba 5301.
I don't know which one of these to get. Its for a dual steering servo setup in the fg monster truck.
Here's the stats of each... The hitec..... Torque 4.8/6.0v : 208 / 250 oz. 15 / 18 kg. Speed 4.8/6.0v : 0.18 / 0.15 second Size : 2.3"x 1.1"x 2.0" 59 x 29 x 52mm Weight : 5.68 oz. 161 g. The futaba....... Torque 4.8/6.0v : 233.2/291.5 oz. Speed 4.8/6.0v : 0.29/0.23 second Size 2.4 x 1.2 x 2.0 in Weight 4.4 oz Am I better off to Sacrifice speed over torque?? Thanks |
RE: What servo is better?? Hitec 5745 or futaba 5301.
A hitec 805BB.... it has more torque & speed than either one of those servos ..... costs less
805bb Torque 4.8/6.0v .........275 / 343 oz. 19.8/24.7kg Speed 4.8/6.0v.......... 0.19 / 0.14 second @ 6.0V it has 343 oz torque and a speed of 0.14...non digital so no end set and only $35 |

For me, if I had my preference, I would take the Futaba one. I personally use the Hitec 5745, actaully, I resorted two of them; I find the 250in-oz of only one unit lacking. That 500in-oz dames a world of difference when bashing. The wheels keep their position, and the 2 servos do not have any problems turning the massive 5th scale wheels at their full transit speed. I have had to tighten up the stiffness of the steering servo block by adding 2 O-rings (I have the alloy one), so that when going over bumps and stuff in a turn, the weels hold their position better. I use digitals over non-digitals because my radio (a Futaba) transmits in HRS mode. In this transmission mode, I MUST use digital servos for everything, even the steering and braking servos. |

Yeah, but if he is in the same situation that I am in, he would have to stick with digital servos. If that 805 were a 5805 or even what would be called a 7805 today, I would not hesitate buying one.

I won't buy the 805's because of the nylon gears. I decided to go with the 5745's got one in my fg stadium truck and it works great. Just wasn't sure if anything better had came out for the same price in the past 3 years.

Hellya, after working with my Jr radio, you can set the end stops with a radio, gues I already knew this (duh on my part), so you would not need to program the servo if your radio can do it for you using the EPA settings.. Think I'm going to try the servo you talked about above on my Baja.. |
RE: What servo is better?? Hitec 5745 or futaba 5301.
If you want the best servo get a rhino digi4 initial 380ozin and .10sec transit, holding is 205ozin, some folk say you need a voltlimiter but as far as I'm aware my spektum 3000 only outputs 6v as does my nomadio transceiver so they wont burn out with no limiter. Maybe other receivers don't limit output voltage like the 2.4ghz ones

im using hitec 5966 its 8sec speed

If you want bigger than that a Tone 050 with a wapping 900 @ 6 volts.Orice of 2 hs 7545 seervos. |

I know for a fact that The rhino dosen't have 370? torque when I compare it to a HS 805. The Hs 805 beats it. Multiplex servo have good holding power that's it.[:o] |

Her are the real number for the rhino servo www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJCG2&P=ML - Cached
1. a servo cant have less holding power than starting torgue. 2. starting torque and holding power can be the same. 3 holding power is always more than startin torque. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJCG2&P=ML |

I checked everywhere I could think of including Hitec RCD and Multiplex.N owhere can I find the Rhino listing The torque specs above 250oz. Here is the factory spec on the web.

ORIGINAL: bsrman14 I know for a fact that A hs 805 has more power than a Multiplex digi 4 hands dowm. Back on topic, the 5745 is again the superior servo. As for specs, can't remember where I saw it to post a link, but I know that the holding power of the rhino is 24kg-cm, despite it's more measly 200oz-in initial torque, it is still more servo than you ever need in a 5th scale. RE: What servo is better?? Hitec 5745 or futaba 5301.
If Foxy endorses the 5745, then I'm glad I did purchase the 5745s. While out bashing in the cold a couple of days back, I am actually astonished at how responsive the 0.15 sec 60degree arc transit speed is to the turn of the radio wheel.
I use slower servos for my 8th scales, I have the 5995TG robot servos in my basher Savages, and those turn at 0.23sec transit speed, and they are actually significantly slower at the feel of the wheel. But I guess that is not all that bad, the slower transit speed does in some effect work like a de facto dual-rate steering, at least until the wheels hit a certain angles and the Savage tips over and rolls from the tangential velocity of the angular path of its supposed trajectory. And as for flipping my gasser with 5745s? Oh yeah, I do that too easily. With the Futabas, I know my truck will have its wheels stick to the ground just a tad longer, at least until the angle of the wheels are such that my truck will roll over. |
