RE: WTB: Aquila Plans
RCM Plans have the Aquila. Plus many other designs worth looking at.

Ok Thanks for the reply. I ordered a set and a confirmation was emailed immediately. I will see if they show up in two weeks.
Meanwhile, I will have a Mirage kit to work on.

Well, they never did show up. I will have to check my credit card and see if I got duped.
Would have rather paid somebody here $20 or $30 but seems to be excess funds all around

I ordered a set of plans a couple of months ago from RCM and it took three weeks to get them. I'm sure you will receive yours soon, but I don't know why it takes so long.

RCM is very slow. I ordered a set of Ultra sport 60 plans and it took 4 weeks. I called, and they are very polite. Just need to be patient. They'll show up.

Actually, I'd recommend doing what Steve did: give them a call. You'll probably feel better after talking to them than you would just waiting and not knowing.

RE: WTB: Aquila Plans
Actually, I did receive an email from RCM Friday afternoon to let me know that they were shipped! So should have them within ten days.

For printed material that'll likely be the case. For other "solid" goods when Canada Customs gets into the act the wait can sometimes stretch out to more than a month depending on the amount of stuff being checked.
By the way, the Aquila airfoil was one of the options tested by Selig and Donovan and written up in the report of their first go around of low speed wind tunnel testing. The original airfoil does not do all that well when you want to speed up such as on windy days to get back to the launch point after following a thermal a little too far downwind. If you like the model's looks and don't mind "upgrading it a bit I'd suggest a switch of airfoils over to the balsa construction friendly AG 34/35 as used on Mark Drela's Allegro Lite sailplane. And at the same time some added carbon strip stock for the spars and a bigger section main wing joiner rod would not be out of line to ensure a more bullet proof wing and good launches so you don't need to worry about the wing flex or failure.

RE: WTB: Aquila Plans
So I did receive the plans today. The quality is top notch !!
Althought the fuselage plans are drawn in as 1/8 inch lite ply about 38 inches long. How will I do that? Maybe a splice of two pieces behind the wing ?
Don't really want to use door skin material....
