its ok............i put 500 watt on the nose.........its a bit heavy but you need to fly it down,,,it could use air brakes

Yea the old one was 2.6m. Its listed at 7lbs which is pretty heavy but they tout it as electric, I wonder what it would come in at without a power system.

It would be nice if they had the manual online.

No air brakes or flaps.Plywood formers glued in crooked with a twisted fuselage.
Missing wing tips.
Wings did pass the eyeball test.
Just about what I expected from a cheap arf kit.Im sure I can make in fly ok with a few upgrades.

OK........... I bit the bullet and bought one........ NOW......what size outrunner electric motor should I get to go with it? What size ESC? What size Li-Po?

There was also an old one that was 4m, there is a long build thread around it. The new one is a bit different.

My dad bought one of the new ones and just flew it today. Actually said it did pretty well, but really could use airbrakes or flaps. More of a light wind/lift kind of plane, but did okay in 20kt winds off the slope. We will have to see how well it holds up.

I have the 4M that they sold out. The CG is stated at 70mm but I have seen a post that said 75mm. My first flight will be an aerotow. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

When under tow just keep the wings and the glider level and let the tow plane pull you around. Best to stay a bit above his tail or you pull down on the tow plane's tail and that is not good.

If you have R/E mixing setup turn it off during the tow.

On my Aerotow glider (3.4M Ventus 2C) I have the R/E mix on a switch that also operates the tow release. When I am on the line the R/E mix is turned off. When I flip the switch to release the line it turns the mix back on.

Is this the flapped version or the one with spoilers? I have some experience with the (earlier, I believe) spoiler version. It flies nicely with the CG well aft of 75mm... more like 95-100 as a matter of fact. But again, this could depend on the specific wing involved. I wouldn't necessarily try to apply that experience to the flapped wing, which may be an altogether different animal.

The description is still on the Nitroplane site. The description did not match the plane I received. My kit did not even have a plastic tray for the canopy. Instructions were for a Discus. No help from Nitroplanes support. (aka Raiden) No instructions on how to drive the double tapered elevator. Wing roots don't match fuselage fairings. Only reason I've stayed with it is because I'm stubborn I guess. I'll post some pictures before I try to fly it.

amen to that my friend, I own one, worst glass job Ive ever seen, winglet tip so bad not even close to the end of the wing shape. Beside the outrunner and a 5000ma lipo. I still had to ad about 3 pounds of lead to get the CG to balance. I am about ready to fly this thing. Ill let you all know how it does...thanks for listening.. Terry

This is a poor photo of my completed "Ventus". It has been flown three times from a tow plane. The maiden flight was nearly a disaster as the stabilizer incidence as supplied was way off. Only a huge amount of up elevator saved it. After modifying the stab platform and stab it flies pretty well. The stab now has about a 1/4" of up. Didn't have an incidence meter so it was "eyeballed". I suspect it's around 0 to 1 1/2 degrees negative. Took about 25 ounces of lead to balance. I will add a fixed wheel at some point. (Note original incidence of stab!)

Many tows since last post. One ground loop with fuselage damage on the egg shell fuselage. I the air it flies freat. Landing for me is difficult as the plane doesn't slow down due to its slippery desigb. I guess I have to bite the bullet and cut in sme HK electric spoilers. I see Raidentech and Nitrolist this "kit" as " out of stock".
