For those of us who loves fun in the air - one of my last flights turned-out to be quite entertaining - no weather so I went a bit aerobatic. I am far from being the best aerobatic pilot but I had fun.
Also, there were two of us on the airfield and I was a bit too high for landing while proposed landing from that altitude. My partner said: "No way" - see for yourself how it ended - I love landings!

You can hear the servos singing on the landing.

Not much stiffer than Grob 103 has we flew. Although it is much easier to fly than RC gliders (no FPV required):

Hi Longsoar, just received my Graphite 2e from Vladimir. I've chosen the v tail version as I have a Mini Graphite v tail and just think it looks so cool. Also doing some research there didn't seem a lot of difference weighing up the pros and cons. I'm installing a Kontronik 500-34 as suggested so am expecting some performance...
Have enjoyed your YouTubes thanks. This is end of Nov 2013 and don't expect to

Hey Tony!
Congrats on a new glider!
Kontronik 500-34 for Mini Graphite? According to motor details it will be a HotRod! What kind of flying do you plan to do?
I'd consider this motor overkill for my Graphite never mind Mini.
Usually I do the calculation and multiply by 0.5 to get the necessary power output as gliders are not the power planes. 6HP can be used as a self-luncher on a full scale glider which will never work on full-scale power plane.
300W for my Graphite works nicely. Mini Graphite is lighter - do your math.
But that's me, I am all for soaring and I do not fly competition anymore. Also lower power rating gives me less drain on idle - more flying time.
Looking forward to see your flight videos!
Cheers,
Mark

Guess I had badly written text, the 500-34 is for the Graphite 2e. Currently I am flat field power sports and played with a 30 year old balsa thermal soarer that I installed an electric. Also have three DLGs Binary III, Elf and FW5 which have had masses of airtime. Now more recently this summer has been concentrated on MiniG which I love to find thermals but also speed dives and aerobatics. The Graphite 2e will be much the same, gentle thermal finding (we have lots of kites and buzzards in this area that I love to join in with) but also to turn on the heat and hit the aerobatics and speed field beat ups. Never really been interested in competition.
In my MiniG I have a 4Max purple power PPPO-3542-1250 which is perfect for getting height. I get a faster flight diving from height with no power than I can under power. So for the G2e I wanted something a bit serious power wise.

Getting ready for a Summer season. Checked servos, connections, power setup.
New tail servos are on-order (just in-case want to replace them).

Nice plane (drooling on keyboard) but that servo frame could've been made from some light ply in a couple of minutes in my opinion.
I must be missing something here?????
