Thank you, this will help me a lot. I've been laid up all week from a pulled muscle in my lower back, around the kidney area on the left side. Haven't done much on the Riser. I ordered my motor, esc and servo extensions yesterday from Hobby King. They should be shipped out on Tuesday the 5th. Hopefully I'll get them next Saturday.

Well, I still haven't done much. Back is still bothering me some. But I ordered my motor, esc and servo extensions, will be getting them on Wednesday next week. Later on tonight, going to glue the fin only to the body and I am still working on the spoiler setup for the wings.

E-Riser 100 Update:
Well. I had to do some edging with the Dremel sander in (yellow circle). My 40 amp esc (speed controller) wouldn't fit otherwise. And I installed the new motor and connected the wires to it. First attempted was right on, the motor turned in the right direction the first time. I am still working on the wings of course. And I am putting my spoiler servo's on a channel 5 which is a variable turning nob. And I got that all setup also. So the radio, receiver, servo's and motor are setup now.
In picture 2 was the way it looked before I took the Dremel to it.
Still trying figure out the spoiler's mounting and setting up. Had some wood, getting cut and stuff. I accidentally snapped it in half the long way. That made me mad.
Epoxied fin to the body, I had to clamp it at the end to be straight.

Aquila1954,
Your making steady progress and looks good. On my spoilers I made a simple rail type setup and used canopy glue to secure it, I think I probably over engineered it though.

Sig Riser 100 Update
Okay, I think I got the setup almost done on the spoiler servo's. They are not glued in yet, just taped in place on the mount. And the mount is not glued in either, just wedged between the ribs.

The servo's are on a variable nob, which I put on channel 5 of my tx. The nob that the red circle is around it.
And the picture is from another guy's plane that I seen on RCGroups.com.
He used button hooks to draw the spoilers back down in the bays. I think I'll do the same.
I am a little shaky, trying to hold the cell phone and work my controls.

Here are a few photos of the right wing with the spoiler deployed. If I was to do it again I would make a spruce or ply pan going from one rib (notched) to the other and mount the servo on top of the pan with adhesive. It came out a little Joe Magee to me but it will work as the servo is mounted securely.

Mine is going to be a little simpler I hope. Like you said that I marked in bold font. But mine platform 2 pieces of 1/16" bass sheeting with a 1/8" balsa sandwiched in between. And servo on top. Like in the video I posted.

Yeah I've seen that type of setup before but the builder made a big servo arm which after watching your video it probably isn't necessary. It was very simple but worked well, I think he used magnets to keep the spoilers down but the rubber band you're using keeps it simple throughout. Man you're almost done!

Yea, I haven't done much of anything. It's been to darn hot in Nebraska here. And my window a/c isn't working all that great. So, all I have been doing is vegetate. And since the heat came in June, I haven't flown either. But I should have it ready to fly sometime in August, hopefully.

Well, on mine. Not much. My window air conditioner crapped out on Tuesday. Getting a new one delivered Friday. Just haven't done much of anything. Come August 1st, I want to get some 30 minute epoxy to put the stab on the plane. I have 5 minute, but I don't think I will get it lined up in time before that stuff sets. And I am still sanding on the wing tips. But slowly it is getting there.

I first started in the spare bedroom, building everything. Then moved to the front room on the computer desk. And the front room had the a/c in it.
I did finally got around and carve the hatch cover to fit over the wing.
When you got high temps in the upper 90's high humidity and a dew point that matches it, it's really not good. And on top of it all, I am a really big guy, as around. Not tall. lol

That be great. Thursday, I will get the 30 minute epoxy for I can glue the stab in place. For some reason my fin is off just a hair. So, when gluing stab, I will line the fin up better. Needs to be treak to the starboard side.

E-Riser 100 Update:
Okay left wing tip done. Starting on the right one now. You can see my covered stab under the wing panel. It's a little bit more rounded. Not completely flat bottom.
Hey Pork Chop:
On your tip blocks, did you have one softer than the other. My left is a softer balsa than the other one. The right one is going to take a little more elbow grease to get it done.
When I went in to take pictures of the tips, I started sanding on the right one again. I can't sit there that long to sand to finish, I have to do it in intervals. My hand get stiff.
I wonder if anyone ever did a Riser 100 wing tip like the Airtronics Aquila's tip are done with it being curved.
Oh yea, forgot to mention. I have gotten my new window a/c in the front-room again. It is so nice. Maybe that is the reason I got the left tip done. Did in the spare bedroom tonight.
More to come later.
