Cambria Miri 120" ever seen one? pics
Built this one maybe 15 years ago, it's a UK kit made by Cambria, fiberglass fuse with an aluminium
tail boom tube, wings and tail feathers are built up, flies real good and smooth. It's probably a late 70s
kit. Anyway never seen another one, all searches came up with nothing. Just wondering if anybody
out there beside me owns one. The fuse came molded in yellow but was painted by me, sailplanes
should be white!

I had one, enjoyed it both in thermal and slope. Sorry no pics as Mr Kodak was still a boy! I THINK it was about '74 when I sold it to a mate who wanted a BIG plane - Iwas getting into 1/4 scale. A Soaron Pik 19 if I remember right.

Thanks for the reply, geez it's even older than what I was figuring... only flew it thermal up to now, maybe
one day on the slope. The only mod I made is adding spoilers on it, sure helps because it doesn't want
to land that much!

Hi,
Regarding the MIRI I had one in 197x and pretty much destroyed it trying to do a cross country event with it.
I was up in the roof space the other month and I heard it crying. Luckily I still had the plans and was able to rebuild it.
Its a really good model and a great one for training as it is so stable.
Sorry it is Yellow.
Jon

Jon,
Would you still happen to have a copy of the plans that you would be willing to share with us?
That is one good looking glider both on the ground and in the air.

RE: Cambria Miri 120
Hi Lyle,
I have taken some pics of the bits of plan I have left. The fuz and tail is complete but the wing is only up to rib 20, the ribs are spaced at 2 inch intervals. I don't have a profile for the wing sections however there is one shown on the fuz plan.
There is some optical distortion visible on the plans but the straight edges of the rulers might help you sort this.
I also have a knocked about fuz that could be repaired if you want it, but I don't have a canopy to go with it.
Happy to help you further if you require,
All the best,
Jon

RE: Cambria Miri 120
Jon,
Does the fuze have the boom with it or is it just the pod itself? Would like to build this up. It is a great looking model that has some appeal to it. I have always like a good pod and bom glider and the lines in this are fantastic. This was out about the time that I started into gliders back in the 70's. Wish we had more like this here in the States. Let me know what you want for it and the price for shipping.
Copy of the plans would work also if you want to keep your originals. I can work the pod into something wood also then glass it. Canopy is not a problem.
Got to like those oldies from yesteryear
Regards,
Lyle

We have more information over at the sister sight. Iwill have to look to see if the plans are still here or if they went to fuzzypaul in Canada for cleanup and restoration. The last quarter of the wing tip is missing, but should be no problem. Not really much to the plans.

Sorry for the late reply. Work has been really busy leaving no time for hobby and family.
