Default Will 1450kv motor work with 1.3m wing span glider?

Hello!

I am buildin a glider with 1.3 meter wing span and I would like to know if a 1450kv motor with 8x6 propeller is good for that glider?

I think it should work. I will be putting this motor in a 2 meter Riser, with a 9x6 folding prop. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/d2830-11...ess-motor.html
With a Turnigy 1300 3s 30c 11.1v battery.

This also may help to understand brushless motors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlSa2f76QiU

I try to stay under 1000 KV for gliders to keep the speeds down and get more torque from the motor.

A 1.3M glider should come in quite light. As in somewhere around 250 to at most 280gms? So that motor is overkill for the amount of power it will provide for such a glider. And with smaller gliders being sensitive to weight a lighter motor would be a nicer option. Maybe something more like this?

The Kv value is what determines the size of prop within a size range of motors. An 8 inch folding prop is not a bad size for a 1.3M glider. A lower Kv would require a larger prop. I'm not sure I'd want to go any larger so something around Kv= 1400 to 2000isn't a bad option. It results in a prop used with a 2S pack being of a size that is in tune with the size of the model.
