Help converting glider to electric
I have an old airtronics olymicp ii glider I would like to convert to electric. I have no idea what motor or esc to use. Thanks.

Typically it doesn’t take a whole lot of motor to get a glider up in the air, but I just completed my BOT ep version I had on preorder forever and finally arrived right before Christmas. I went with the recommended motor, Rimfire 32 and a 3600mah 4s which I think is way too much! Should fly like a rocket, but I went with it because It seems to balance out perfectly at the recommended cog. Haven’t had the weather to get a maiden in yet, but it feels like a flying brick at just under 5lbs, 4lbs 9oz to be exact! But with its wing area and almost 10ft wingspan it should soar just fine. I think I will put spoilers on it eventually because it just looks like it will be a must, not sure why GP didn’t think it would need them, but I’ll do my maiden without... wish me luck!

I saw a couple guys fooling with F5b ships and thought I might like to try one myself. True competitive machines were pricey so I settled for an introductory model called the Hawk F5B with an older Hacker carbon motor and gearbox turning a 17 X 15 carbon prop. The dang thing is so thin it disappears in 5 seconds straight up. Needs tones of room to fly and bleed off airspeed to land. A dang jet is easier to fly at least its big enough to see at distance. Both get there awful fast. Decided it wasn’t the most relaxing way to fly. The introductory model is enough excitement for me LOL.

Most hot liners and and F5B have either flaps or spoilers to slow down. and or bring the ship down for points landing. When the timer is about to go off, and your ship is hundreds of meters up, spoilers go a long way to bring it back down in time hopefully to win the contest.
I actually watched the wings on a woody fold from too much winch.
Was not a pretty sight.
I have several gliders now and will start working on an old ship sold by Kirk Massey at New Creations R/C called a Millennium Falcon, fiberglass fuse, Obeichi sheeted foam wings and tail feathers. I Installed a Hyperion glider motor and added ailerons . Gotta get the servos for the rudder and elevator installed....someday.
