Default Help for sailplane, launching/tossing device

Hello all
I am trying to set a plane to launch my Riser100.
I know there's some device that's put right above of the "tow plane" that holds the sailplane and is actuated with aux servo when arrived to the desired altitude to let the sailplane go, it's kind of a mother ship set.
I wonder if any of you may have any drawing or schematics to build it.
Thanks in advance for any help

Default Help for sailplane, launching/tossing device

The June, 2002 issue of Model Aviation has a feature article on page 55 which details the piggyback glider launching device.

I see that you are in Columbia. Copies of Model Aviation may not be easily available there. If you send me your address privately, I will mail my copy to you.

An e-mail addy for you - this chappie is from Bogota as well. He flies a red Spectra and I have photos of his model specked out after a cradle launch.

HI Probligo
Thanks for the info
I already sent an e-mail to this guy from Bogota, perhaps we could arrange something together.
I am dying to fly by the very first time my riser 100.

Regards

Default BE CAREFUL

The piggyback setup is for the 2meter and smaller planes normally, with the lift/speed being generated by a powered plane large enough to get the Riser 100 into the air fairly fast you could be fluttering or snapping a wing. This is just food for thought.

When you strap the plane in, the wings will have to flex instead of the glider being able to rise with the lift being generated. This is amplified by the length of the wing and the weight of a bigger launch plane.

Take care Jim
