RE: Schweizer 2-33 kit
I am responding late to this thread since Brandon has already contacted me regarding his 2-33 project and has sent some great pictures of the Canadian Air Cadets 2-33 and is sending a three-view of the aircraft to aid in drafting plans. We will do this model in both 1:5 and 1:3 scale and will begin as soon as the new year and hope to have plans and short kits laser cut by as soon as Feb or Mar of 05.
If anyone has scale docuentation images up close of hinges, skids, instrument panels and cockpit details, dive brake and aileron photos etc and outstanding color schemes that they would like to see please send them to my via PM along with a note providing us permission to display and distribute them from our web pages and in our advertising and marketing materials. If any really catch my eye I will include them on the plans.

Here are some more 2-33 photos taken in 1986 or so. One is of a first solo flight. Both at Barre airport in New Braintree Mass.

RE: Schweizer 2-33 kit
Thanks Scot for getting us more photo documentation and permission to use them in our scale doc packs and to aid in our development of plans. Depending on what Scot sends me, I may still need good pictures of other examples with cool color schemes and instruments. If anyone has a photo of the bare "bones" structure of the fuse, this would be monumental since I would like to draft the fuse as it was acutally made at the Schweizer factory.
Thanks to Brandon, I have three views now from Schweizer. They are lacking the cross sections and ghosted framing members seen is some three views so there is as much I don't know as these drawings lack fuselage bulkhead shapes, dimensions of major structures such as width of tail, height of vertical fin, width of fuse, or even wingspan. Oh well. I'll go extensively measure the example at the local flying field next week.

Any thoughts on the pics I sent you? I did not have a tape measure with me, I was not sure if you needed specific length measurements or not.
Sorry if I flooded your email account. I went crazy with the camera.

Hey Scot, I have not been able to view any of them yet. The download time is too great for my dial up. Can you just burn a CD and send me?
Thanks. And I am glad you went crazy. It will be a great help to future builders and myself once we get the plans done to see the actual plane closeup and in detail, especially if they want to enter their model in a scale contest.

Tom I've got some pics of some, somewhere...I will try and dig them out on the weekend... My son got his licence in one in '99. So we thought it would make a good aero tow subject.....

Got all kinds of good documentation now including the drawings that are included in the Schweizer manual for the airframe with all of the welded steel truss components included and actual measurements from another modeler, plus Kearny's three view. Ready to go!

RE: Schweizer 2-33 kit
Thanks Gunny, extremely helpful. One thing I noticed guys when photographing the example at our local glider club is that on the right side fuse near cockpit it is flat, on the left side their is a stringer bulge. Is this correct and are they all like this. Simons three view here does not show this.

Tom...it's been awhile, and I will check with my son, but I seem to remember there is a bit of a door on the right hand side. The left hand side is definitely bulged out cuz that is where the spoiler control is.....
