Belly skid tape
I bought a second hand hotliner and it had this rough and tough tape on the fuse's belly to protect the gelcoat on landings. Whats it called and who offers it? It kind of looks like skateboard covering but its white.

RE: Belly skid tape
Dubro USED to make a landing skid that was about 1/4 inch thick and about 12 inches long but I haven't seen one in a long time. I'd like to get a hold of some of them again myself. All the bellies on my gliders are bare and I'm going to be moving out to Arizona where the ground is rough enough to take monokote off after a landing or two.

I'm from AZ, where I fly is a rolled dirt runway. Last time I tried using electrical tape, it works well but isnt a permanent solution.

I use the metal duct tape from Home depot. Don't get the regular cloth duct tape. The metal tape is very sturdy and the glue sticks very well

RE: Belly skid tape
Check out anti-slip material for boats. Most any boat supply or Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops carry it and just cut it to the size you want. The material comes in white and black and is self stick. Another option is to tape off the area where you want the "skid plate"; brush on a thin even layer of epoxy and coat it with washed coarse sand.
