Does a RTF beginner slope soarer exist?
Does anyone know of an almost ready to fly foam slope soarer that's worth the money? I have minimal building time right now but I'd like to do some flying..

There's not too much in the way or ARF epp kits. The Bee from windrider is close but still requires a few hours of construction. You can contact Stembridge at Custom wings. He custom builds kits just the way you want em. Does great work and he's pretty cheap for what he does. You can get it ready to charge and chuck from him.

What kind of wind are you talking? I slope my gentle lady more than anything. Can do it in up to 20 knots, but not as a beginner. You want less wind. Breeze to 10 knots probably. They make an arf version of it. Otherwise, get a built one off ebay or the auction here. Lots of good gliders, depending on what wind you are dealing with.

Thanks for the replies. I'd like to find a RTF slope soarer with either a flat wing or symmetrical wing cross-section but definately with a flat overall wing..i.e no polyhedral.

Depends on what you consider a slope plane. You can fly almost anything in teh way of gliders or parkflyers at the slope. Here are a few RTF parkflyers that could be used at the slope. Perhaps not the best pure slope planes, but they will certainly fly.
I know you said no poly wings, but some are include here anyway.
If you get a RTF package like the Great Planes Spirit Select: $155 it comes
complete with radio and is ready to fly.

Ready to fly packages - come with everything you need
Easy Star - Everything you need - $199
This is both a parkflyer and a park glider

If I were you, I would keep the Multiplex Easy Star in mind. It's not just a slope soarer (I like to thermal with it when it's not too windy) buy it does a good job and is easy to fly. Yesterday, I flew it for 30 min. and only turned the motor on a couple of times. It really floats.
Good Luck

I flew Zagi's for a long time and they are excellent slope soarers that are tough to destroy. If you need a conventional design Canterbury Sailplanes Eraser 60 is excellent. I needed a conventional design plane to teach my kids with the buddy box. I got an Eraser 60 and now fly it more than the Zagi because it is more aerobatic as well as better for the 8 year old trainee. I find it a challenge. He had fun building it and trying to fly it. There is a U.S. supplier for the planes as well. The company is out of New Zealand. They fly great.

[8D]dont rule out polydihedral wings
they allow you to turn your back and look around without the glider
falling out of the sky. a spirit or any other 2 meter glider would work just fine.

I have taken my Aerobird Challenger Slope soaring many times. Does quite well in moderate conditions and when the lift gets soft, just hit the motor for a little climb, then ride what lift there is.
The Easy Star and the T-hawk should do as well.
T-Hawk - RTF - Excellent Value - $170 - space CL1
Comes with extra wing, tail and battery
Flies well and stands up to hard landings
Can be flown on 27 MHz or 72 MHz
