Sailplane Servo
Hello guys....
I have a Sophisticated Lady that was given to me and i would like to fly it this summer. I want to order the flight pack this week and i need some advice on what kind of servos to use. I am a "JR" fan so i looked at their flight packs and the only one available with small servo are the flight pack with "[link=http://www.greathobbies.com/scart/productinfo.php3?PartNumber=JRPS241]241[/link]" micro servos, @ 17 oz-in of torque. Are those servo powerfull enought cause 17 oz looks pretty low to me. I can also go with "Hitec" which has much more flight packs available, like this "[link=http://www.hitecrcd.com/Accesories/packFthr.htm]HS-55[/link]" or this "[link=http://www.hitecrcd.com/Accesories/packMicro.htm]HS-81[/link]"
I noticed that what Jr call micro is same torque as feather from Hitec.
Thanks for helping [X(]

RE: Sailplane Servo
I am a big fan of Hitec equipment. I have used the HS-81's and they should do the job well. Nothing wrong with JR guys..... Hitec is just a "good bang for the buck" in my opinion. ... lownslo...

RE: Sailplane Servo
I have a 3m Airtronics Legend. I use HS-81 MG servos for Ailerons and flaps. I have HS-81 for rudder and elevator.
Have had no problems. However I do recommend the metal gears for flaps and ailerons as these tend to take hits on landing and the nylon gears can strip out.
HS-85s may be options.
Finally the Hitec HS-125 MG is a flat wing servo that I purchased for my 3.6M scale sailplane.

RE: Sailplane Servo
Ok ...
Thanks for infos i will order the Hitec [link=http://www.hitecrcd.com/Accesories/packMicro.htm]micro flight pack [/link] with the 555 receiver and HS-81 Servos.
The flight pack is not available with the HS-81MG, can i replaced the plastic gears with metal gears later when they break ?
Is it the same casing ?

RE: Sailplane Servo
For a Sophisticated Lady, there is no need for MG servos unless you are in the habit of bashing the tail into the door frame when packing & unpacking. As long as your pushrods and linkages operate freely, the HS-81s are plenty. Good luck
