RE: plans for silhouette
I bought a ARF Silhouette made by AMD a few years ago. They made a few ARF planes including the bigger brother of the Silhouette which is the Quicksilver. In fact I refinished my Quicksilver a year ago and I finally took it out to fly last week. I still have the ARF Silhouette new in box and I am itching to get that plane finished to join the Quicksilver in the air in the near future.
I've flown the Silhouette (the original made by Douglas Aircraft) and comparing the characteristics of the bigger Quicksilver, the Silhouette is a bit more agile but squirrelly and the Quicksilver is a tad slower but tracks better. If you ballast both planes up, they are a blast to fly on the slope in strong winds.
