Hacker Antares Electric glider info wanted
I have just recently purchased a Hacker Antares 2.8 metre electric glider & want some info on what sort of motor/speed controller would be best suited to this. I have not had an electric glider before and would appreciate some advice. I have only ever had fuel powered planes . I am not wanting the best of everything I just want something that will do the job & keep me in the good books with the wife & not spend too much money .

RE: Hacker Antares Electric glider info wanted
Hi Doug,
I've got a Hacker Antares. I tried it with a hot buggy motor and a car speedy with a 8x5.5 prop & 8cells but it couldn't pull skin off a custard.
So I've picked up a 2820/10 from aircraft-world.com for $108 AUS delvivered....next step is to try the 60AMP controller advertised on ebay.com.au
Will slip a NiCd pack into it but plan on going to LiPolys asap. 12" CAM prop too.
The Antares needs beefing up a lot. It's a fragile beastie. Other than that, I paid $180AUS for a pretty nice glider. Fragile but looks good.
regards,
Chris
