Help Identify this plane
I am trying to find out what plane this is and who makes it. I picked up 2 of these for $10 bucks and thought I would put an electric brushless outrunner on it and cut control surfaces for it. But I was hoping someone could help me with what it is. This is an all foam body. The measurements are
Wing span 73 inches
The fuse is 55 inches
Tail wing 20 inches
Any info would help alot. Thanks BG

RE: Help Identify this plane
I am not sure the guy I got them from said something about a "doodle bug"?
I guess I was trying to find out the average kind of setup for this bird and COG and so forth.
I assume this is a sailplane of some type, which I plan to put a nice brushless setup in it and maybe swing an 8 inch prop.

Slope, I looked over at tower and they have those for 29.99 each and it looks to me dead on the money. I guess I got a good deal 2 for $10, but now I see it's meant as a free flight glider. I have to see how many "G"s this thing can handle.
Hey, thanks alot for pointing me in the right direction. BG

You can glues some spars in the wing if you want to, and make it RC. A couple of guys out at my hill have done this with thise styrofoam kids gliders, and they work, but they're a bit labor intensive for what you end up with.
The mods usually are: Spruce or fiberglass tubes for spars in the wing, and one in the fuselage. Spray with 3m-77, tape with packing tape, hinge the control surfaces, and flush mount your radio grear in pockets cut into the tape/foam. We fly them as cheap slope soarers.

Thanks Slope. I went over to Lanier and they actually had a step by step on converting over to an electric with a speed 400. Although I will put a brushless outrunner on it and see how it works. I have lots of extra goodies layin around. Maybe if I like how she flies I may even monocote or even glass the whole bird. Glassed my F-27 Stryker and she ended up being very nice. Flies twice as nice.
So, Thanks for the info and help. BG
