gap tape
I was thinking of putting gap seal on the ailerons and elevator of my Mini Floh HLG. On both the ailerons and elevator the gap is just a frogs hair less than 3mm wide and the ailerons are fairly long--over half the length of the wing. So, with such a seemingly small gap, will there be a gain in airfoil efficiency that makes using gap seal worth it? Thanks!

Difficult to quantify hinge gap effects at model scale and Re, and not sure anyone has done wind tunnel tests on it.
I'd trim for straight & level flight w/o gap seal on a calm day, then apply gap seal to one side only and flight test. If there's any change in roll or pitch, put the gap seal on the other side only, and flight test again. An opposite effect will confirm the seal's effect.
