Tx setup for 6 servo wing, thermal duration
What TX programming is needed to setup a 6 servo (wing) Thermal duration glider with a limited run motor (LMR) electric motor? Motor control should be proportional. Would prefer to use my Futaba 9CAP with 8/9 channel RX, if possible. If the 9C cannot do the job, what would be a good substitute?

If you are in an LMR contest, why do you need proportional control on the motor. Typically you would put the motor on a switch and use the throttle stick for landing controls.
I fly TD sailplanes, no motor, using a Futaba 9C. 4 wing servos, R/E. If I added a motor for LMR, I would put it on a switch.
I am not a hot competition flyer, so I will let others go into more detail. However this thread my be of interest:
What mixes do you use to set-up your plane?

RE: Tx setup for 6 servo wing, thermal duration
To clarify, 'Moebius' sold by Icarus is a 132" TD V-tail glider with 2 nose pods. One of which houses the LMR motor. 6 servos in wing. (4 ail. & 2 are flaps.
Want to use my 9C tx ( ch PCM Futaba rx. Am not into competion flying; though, I believe having the motor proportional would sometime be useful.
Don't know what mixes I'd use...am asking for any help... with a complete setup. Can someone tell/show me exactly how would I go about it?

I fly TD sailplanes, slope gliders, DLG and parkflyer electrics.
Slope are flown with the Hitec Prism 7X
Others are on the Futaba 9CH computer radio.
I will go through the mixes I use. The full house has 6 servos, 4 in the wing, each on its own channel using Glider-Flap2 setting. In your case I would put the two ailerons in each wing on a Y cable and treat them as one. You will have to do individual adjustments mechanically till you get each pair even.
Here is my set-up for the full house on my 9C:
Aileron Differential - up 100%, down 50%
aileron-flap so that flaps follow - on switch - flaps move about 15% up and down. I just added this one so I set it so I could turn it on and off. I think I may make it active all the time. I amy turn up the % to 25%.
Aileron-Rudder mix - rudder about 25% - on switch so I can turn it on or off. Plan to go to full time on with this.
On the 3 position switch - over left hand on the H version of the radio:
Launch setting - Switch toward me
Droop flaps 30%
Droop ailerons 15%
Flight setting - - switch centered
all surfaces at neutral
Speed setting - - switch away from me - use this for zoom off winch and when running from sink
Ailerons and flaps up 6% -I also have this adjustable on right dial so I can tune it if I like.
I can either dial in more reflex or dial in camber while the switch is away from me.
Flap-elevator compensation - Landing control operated from left slider - active all the time.
Flap at about 85 degrees with about 20% down elevator
Crow/butterfly - controlled from stick - activate from switch A ( can't be active all the time on 9C )
Flap at about 75 degrees,
ailerons up 25% and
about 10% down elevator
Tripple rates:
High setting -
all surfaces 100% with no expo
Mid setting
Ailerons - 30% expo
Elevator- 40% expo
Rudder - 40% expo
Low rate
ailerons - 80% rate and 35% expo
Elevator- 70% rate and 35% expo
Rudder - 80% rate and 35% expo
Elevator - Flap - use in thermals
I get about 20% down flap movement at full elevator down - nothing up
Timer set on switch - initaties up and dow timers
You don't need all of this.
As a strating point I would suggest:
Aileron diff - on all the time
Aileron - Rudder - I like this on a switch
Flap-elevator for landing - on all the time - I put this on left slider
Launch setting - on tripple switch - toward me
Dual/tripple rates As you like it
Do these, then add others as time goes on.
