Which Glider Kit?
Hello,
Looking to see if someone can suggest a good electric glider kit. I have built a few glow kits in the past. Looking at the Skimmer from HL and wondered if this is a good choice or is there a better one out there to look at.
Thanks!

Before I can recommend a glider kit I need to know
your goals
the type of flying you plan to do
your budget
what radio equipment you plan to use
Different answers yield different answers

didn't you do a whole write up on this recently, or was that just a highstart thing?

RE: Which Glider Kit?
I have done a lot of articles on gliders, but when asked for a recommendation, I need to know the goals.
thermal flying?
Slope?
Relaxed?
Agressive Aerobatics
photography?
competition?
The Skimmer is a great little e glider kit for some people but not for others. This is an experienced flyer, so he has some objectives in mind.

RE: Which Glider Kit?
Thanks for the response.
My goal has changed since I thought more about what I want. I am looking for an electric sailplane around 70" or so that is aerobatic and has ailerons. If not a kit perhaps an ARF, I was looking at the "Mefisto" and the "Sprinter" from Northeast Sailplane Products. Iam trying to keep the budget down on this, maybe you can suggest other options and if you could advise on the best set up.
THANKS!

What you describe is a hotliner, or perhaps a warmliner, which is just a little less "hot". Hotliners are not my "thing" but they are certainly popular.
Some ideas:
At NESail, you would find good examples on this page. All include power set-up recommendations

Great Planes Siren, More of a warmliner

Sizing Electric Power Systems -

Goldberg Endurance
Sort of a warmliner

Mini-NYX - Pricy but!
Hotliner, sloper, says it will thermal too.

All the sites provide suggested power systems.
