Recommendations for a hot( warm?)liner?
I'm looking for a medium performance electric sailplane- That is, something between an electrified floater and a full out hotliner.
Ideally, it would use 3S 2100 pack and a 25-35 amp controller, as I have these already from other projects.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Hotliners are aerobatic planes. Climb straight up, power off, turn for the ground and go wild on the way down, 20 feet from the ground, doing 150 mph, you pull up, hit the power and do it again.
Most hotliners are not good thermal soaring planes although they would probably be OK on the slope.
What is your goal for this plane?
Do you just want a thermal soaring plane with a good climb? That is dooable but that is NOT a hotliner.

RE: Recommendations for a hot( warm?)liner?
Since you have asked a loaded question (there will be many opinions...) First you might want to establish a budget. There are many planes that will fit the bill, but may cost more than you are willing to part with. Also consider whether you want full house controls with flaps, flaperons etc. (Can your radio do this?) Given all of that I just acquired a Cularis from Multiplex and so far am very impressed. It is made from Elapor foam and takes a 3s 2100 batt with 35 amp speed controller. It will climb out at nearly 45 degrees and with its 2.5M span can thermal really well. This is not a "hotliner", but really a spirited electric glider. It has full controls and the foam is easy to repair in the event of a mishap. There were some early issues with the wing, but I think those have all be resolved (mine seems fine). Some others contenders to look at: Siren from Great Planes and a Renny 2M from Northeast. Neither of which are hotliners, but are good electric gliders. I hope this helps...good luck!

RE: Recommendations for a hot( warm?)liner?
Thanks for the replies. I had done a little research, but I guess I was not clear on what a hotliner actually is...I'm basically a heli guy ( hope that doesn't shoot me out of the water here..<g>). Plus I fly fixed wing 3D and sport types, both glow and electric I have a Futaba 9C, so the radio capability shouldn't be a problem. I've flown R\C sailplanes in the past ( way past- Airtronics Aquila in the 70's).
My goal is to have a fairly fast electric that will do aerobatics- at least scale like acro vs. the 3D stuff I already have. Big fast loops and rolls basically. I don't have any good slopes nearby, and it's probably unreasonable to expect much soaring capability, so let's just say a good glide.
Budget? $200 +- for the airframe and motor/prop, using the 3s 2100 batts, controllers and radio gear I already have.
I'll look into the suggestions made and appreciate any others.
Thanks!
