What is the fastest 60" sailplane that I can buy
Nemesis is currently the fastest 60" plane for DS...143mph. Its also one of the fastest planes on the front side.
I'd also include the Mach Dart, and there are probably a lot others. To be honext, I don't think any one of the current molded 60" racers are significantly faster then any other.

bjaffee , gave you a big hint , but is that what you want, just pure speed? or are you really looking for a Slope Racer?
I agree with him about the 60" slope racers being pretty close in speed, of course some do better Pylon Turns than others.
Discounting DS'g, you need to be able to put some ballast in a 60" to get them really "cooking". ( often doubling the weight )

go fast
ALL OF THE SPEED FREAKS THAT I FLY WITH USE THE NEMISIS OR THE MACH DART, ONE OF THE CLAN HAS BEEN ABLE TO INSTALL A BALLAST TUBE IN HIS DART WITH AN 8 oz CAPACITY.
FLYING DRY THE DART IS SLIGHTLY QUICKER THAN THE NEMISIS.

Jim,
Again, I'd go with the Nemesis. Keep in mind that often (not always) the fastest DS planes are also the fastest pylon racers, because the aerodyamic demands are similar (making efficient turns).
AFAIK, all Nemesis comes with a ballast tube installed. I actually have an older unbuilt one with no flaps, and it has a pretty large tube installed that pretty much fills up the entire area underneath the wing. It's about 3/4" in diameter. According to the F3X site, it can carry over 1.3lbs of ballast in the tube.

How does the mini-Nyx compare with the Nemesis, both in light lift and outright speed / aerobatic ability? (The mini-nyx is supposedly the Nemesis's new sister)

Haven't seen a Mini-Nyx fly yet. It's a beautiful plane though...I love the wing's planform. There's been talk that the earlier versions were a bit "softer" the the Nemesis, especially the fuselage. Not sure if that's still the case though.

fast 60
FLEW WITH A GUY LAST WEEKEND, HE WAS FLYING A MACH ONE PLANE WITH 10oz OF BALLAST, IT WAS AMAZINGLY FAST, IT WAS KEEPING UP WITH THE LARGER OPUS CARRYING TWICE THE BALLAST.
PLANE IS A WINGERON, VERY FAST, TRACKS GREAT, AND IS VERY STABLE.
I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO GET MORE SPECIFICS AND I AM STRONGLEY CONSIDERING ADDING ONE TO MY HANGAR

I cannot argue with Bjaffee's choice of the Nemesis, but I'm left wondering what rickj202 wants to do with this 60" Slope Rocket.
If he wants to go 60" slope Racing then I'd wish to remind him that 60" Slope Races are pretty much Won in the turns. More often than not it's the skill of the person wiggling the sticks than the top speed of the plane that wins Races.

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the response to my post. You guys have convinced me about the Nemesis. I purchased one last Friday. I am putting it together as I am typing.
