Default Graupner Cumulus Sailplane

I have an old Graupner Cumulus Sailplane from a friend's estate. I think its from the early 1970's. It has been flown very little and is in really nice shape. I have installed my Futaba 9VAP radio and plan to fly it soon. Anyone ever have one of these? Any comments, suggestions, or info on its performance, characteristics, etc. will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default Cumulus

I owned one of these years ago. It wasnt a bad sailplane however there were many that were better. It was quite heavy and required a good winch to launch. Ty and scratch build an Aquilla by Airtronics if you want some fun>

Default Graupner Germany

You may have a better chance in a german forum.
If you know one and want to give it a shot let me know, I'll translate your post for you in german.

I'll charge you a barrel Ur-Pils Bier per line though ( just kidding ).

Or email Graupner. I am sure they'll reply ( if at all ) in english.

Good luck

Steff

Default Graupner Cumulus Sailplane

Many hours on a Cumulus back in the early 70s over in Germany while in the AF. Most of the flying was off a slope to start and then thermals off the field below. Often specked out...nice plane, a bit heavy. In the cold weather the nylon fuse will shatter on impact (read "dork"). Used to weld it back together using nitric acid! Enjoy it!
