Default Sig Riser 100

I am working on a Sig 100 Riser glider and wondered what electric motor, ESC and battery would be adequate for this plane. I will only be doing thermal gliding. Also, where in the plane would you locate the ESC and battery ?

jmurray23, here are a few suggestions for you and a few places to go look for the information you are seeking. In most cases all you really need to do is spend a little time on the computer and do a search under the forum that you are in. Using key words like Electric Riser, Riser Conversion, etc, you should find a fair amount of info. Check these links out on some of the past ones that have been done.

Suggestion would be a AXI 2820/10 or similar, 10 X 6 to 11 X 6 folder, 40 mm spinner, 3s 2200mah Li-Po,
40a ESC. Battery location would be under the wing or forward of the wing for access under the canopy.
whatever it takes to get the plane to balance right with room for adjustments.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks, tink, those were great suggestions. I assume that these electric things are commonly available. I live in Canada.

Most should be available from any of your Local Hobby Shops. If not mail order is the only other way to go. If you don't want to go the high price end of things there is always the import stuff. Never hand any problems there either.
More a matter of what you want to do and what your pocket book allows.

Here are some for just starters.
You can also post a question over at RC Groups in the electric glider section and get a pretty good response also.
