Glider/TX setup 8U Help.
I have the Glider of my dreams. 2.7 meter!
I have the 8U.
T tail RUD and ELE.
chnl's 4 & 2 no problem.
The wing: inboard flaps each on a servo.
outboard AIL each on a servo.
Motor: Aveox 1406 on H60, 10cell 13x7 at 45 amps.
Do I set up the motor on Throttle, ch3 for proportional?
Then: How do I do Proportional CROW to brake
and either de-thermal or Land?
DO I want this on the Throttle stick?
Or variable from the say channel 8 knob, called ON
when the C sw is say DOWN?
Pros: Give me a shout!

You could set it up so that when the A switch is down, you get crow action, and when it's up, you get throttle. This could cause some problems, though, because full forward usually corresponds to full throttle and also to retracted flaps, so that if you cut the power by pulling the stick all the way back, then flipped the swtich, you'd immediately get full crow.
I'm not entirely sure you can place crow on a knob without recreating the functions with PMIX's. The standard crow mix only works with the throttle.

Thanks!
I wonder if I can preset the LOW end THROT end point
just higher than the CROW CALL? Then call in crow at
say 3/8 stick (Throttle closed at 3/8 stick)
Just lookin for ideas since I have never had the
opportunity to do a 2.7 m glider w/ 40,000 rpm motor!
I have Don Edbergs book on the 8U.
When I get the RX and the Wing servos in, I can
check out some ideas!

I do know that you can set the crow so that it doesn't activate until you get to a certain point on the stick (to prevent an accidental small bump of the stick from deploying crow). For example, I have mine set up so that Crow doesn't start to activate until I've the throttle stick down about 10% from full forward.
It explains how to do it in the manual (there's a certain setting in the crow menu where you move the throttle stick to where you want crow to start, then hit the + and - keys at the same time to set it)...no need for extra books.
