Default Retractable monowheel for sailplane

Does any make a inexpensive retract setup for a sailplanes monowheel? How do the scale jobs do it?

skeeter,
Hobbycity.com sells one. Not sure of the size, but I think it's the one they had in a 2.5m discus or ventus or something. So far everything I've ordered from them has been top-notch as far as quality. I think theirs is only about $14, but their shipping can kill you.

I am in the process of making a non retractable mono wheel for my Cularius I'll let you know how it works out.

I was a little dubious about the one on the Ventus (the same thing in that link above) bit it's help up surprisingly well.

It doesn't have any spec's. What kind of weight it can handle? Does it need a retract servo or will a standard servo work? How does it lock down?

Standard servo, it mechanically locks, my Ventus weighs close to 4 pounds.

While my primary project is a thermal seeking U-2 I've been considering a possible EDF version that will need retracts. The U-2 uses bicycle style main gear and the forward gear will need to be steerable, I'm considering the Dave Brown nose gear for the forward position, still up in the air about the rear, maybe a Robart retractable tailwheel setup.

There's just no end to the engineering in scratch building !!!!!!!!!

I'm used to flying 2M gliders but changed to boats recently, but still have a Sterling Cirrus kit I'm planning and this will work out GREAT!

The wheel size matches almost perfect to the 2" which is on the print and I would have to buy a wheel anyway the kit didn't have one.

Now I have to find out how to make doors for it.[8D]

Hi- be sure to scan, photocopy, handcopy or duplicate the parts and use origionals as masters to be saved before the build! I wouldn't mind getting a copy of those plans and parts, too! If possible- how much?
