Electric conversion of 2000mm sailplane
Hi. Need some advice.
I have a 2000mm wingspan sailplane that I would like to convert into electric. Weight of the sailplane (without motor, battery and receiver) is around 800 grams. I plan to use a 30A brushless ESC, 7 cell 8.4V nicad battery, 1060 folding prop and 2 servos (9g). What brushless outrunner motor is most suitable? Prefer a cheaper motor if possible. Thank you. |
I have used one of these and was very happy with it. I would also highly suggest yo7 ditch the nicad pack and go with a 3 cell Lipo. 850 mah would work just fine for up to 3 climb outs per charge. https://alofthobbies.com/dualsky-xm2838eg-9l.html https://www.buddyrc.com/tattu-850mah...xt30-plug.html |

I'm also thinking of the 4023 1050kv motor for Volantex 757-V2 757V2 (2m sailplane) and the DXW D3536 1200KV motor (for 2m glider). What do you think of these? |
KV seems to be a bit high. Larger props at lower RPMs work better for sailplanes. |
