Default LiPo Battery Charging

I have a small electric heli and have a few questions about the LiPo battery:
1) When my electric heli ceases to fly, the LiPo battery has about 2.9V to 3V on it.Should Ibe charging the battery back to full charge after each useor isit ok to leave dischargedfor a while?
2) Should I disconnect the battery while not in use?
3) Is it important to disconnect the battery from the charger as soon as the red LEDcomes on? What would happen if I left it connected to the charger overnight?
4) Do more expensivehelis (meaning over $200 or so) typically have protection for when the LiPo battery charge gets low? I've heard anything under 3V is not good, but am not sure if a typical heli is designed to cease flying when the voltage gets to this level. If not, are there protection circuits that can be added to do this?

Thanks

Default RE: LiPo Battery Charging

1) The battery should be charged a little when not using it, don't let the voltage get under 3.2v
2) Definitely disconnect the battery when not in use.
3) It is not urgent to disconnect the battery immediately from the charger, but don't leave it plugged in over night, sometimes this will ruin the battery.
4)Some helis have a signal to tell you when the battery gets low such as a light or a beep, but they don't have a low voltage cutoff because the heli could crash. You can buy the low battery alerts.

This should answer a lot of your question.
