Default transmitter and reciver or just transmitter



i am very new at this, i have one of the razers 450 that i would like to up grade to a new transmitter, need to know what to get and do i need to replace the reciver also.

What radio / receiver do you have now? If you bought a "Combo" with a radio already included, then you might be out of luck and will have to upgrade radio AND receiver. When using 2.4 there are only a few companies that are compatible. The rest of them you have to buy the receiver of the same brand as the transmitter.

sorry for the spelling, yes i did get a combo. the trans is a dynam, if i need to buy both then what do you think will work for thismodel.

I've done an upgrade to a Honey Bee King 4 and used a Spectrum DX6i with their AR6115 receiver and have been happy with that combo. The DX6i is reasonably priced but if you can afford it many are now suggesting the DX8i. Spectum, E-flite, offers a number of compatible receivers.

i have found some combsof the dx6i with the reciver ar6115 and 4 servos for around 150.00on ebay, is this about the right price. again i do think you for any help.

That sounds like a pretty good price.  For comparison go to horizonhobby.com to see the cost for a new setup.

after check i fou6ind on ebay, i typed in spektrum dx6i and a list came up, the fourth one down is what i belive whatyou think i need. part #spm6625, from what i have read i beleve that it will work with my heli.
