Default Axe 100cp week on power.

New pilot and LOVING this sport...I got a New Axe 100cp about a month ago. Flies great but I am noticing it takes more and more power to stay in air. I amat max throttle setting on TX, but it takes about 70%-80% throttle to stay up.I have 4 bats and fly italmost every day. After a month or so is the motor just wearing out? I am a newb and have crashed it several time. Replaced 2 tail booms is only repairs. The blades are a little nicked up but no cracks or chuncks missing, (still oringinals) would that make that much a difference? All other controlls are fine. Also...I have seen on other threads that this is a copy of the Nine Eagles solo125. If so, can i swap out for a more powerful motor without having togo brushless and changeanything else? Not gona mess with the 100ss model, My next heli will be.. BIGGER....ANY tips or hints are appreaciated. Thanks.

Default RE: Axe 100cp week on power.

Can't answer all of your questions, but I have the same heli, and am experiencing the same thing. While It's possible that the motor is wearing out,It could just be the batteries(or perhaps a little of both). In one of the reviews I read,he had problems with his batteries getting weaker after several cycles. So if you fly the snot out of it like I do,this could be what is going on. Some of my batteries seem to have more pep than others, but I bought several spares and haven't kept track of cycles. I have looked into alternate batteries for it,but so far have not found a good match.
Sounds like we are thinking along the same lines....I've been looking at 450 size helis. I'm tempted by the new SSL version with lights though!
