What spares should I order for 'ESky Lama V4' ?
Hello,
I'm going to order 'ESky Lama V4'. I'm a beginner so would need spare parts !!
I want to order parts which I'm most likely to need right away, so that I do not have to wait for order to arrive and also save on shipping.
I have assembled following lists of parts to order, to start with:
1. Training Kit Set. Will any Training Kit/gear fit on Lama V4 ?
2. 5 Upper & Lower blades sets
3. Inner Shaft with Aluminum Hub (part# EKL206)
4. Stabilizer set (part# EK1-0314)
5. Landing Skids (part# EK1-574)
6. Swashplate (part# EK1-571)
7. Screw Set (part# EK1-573)
8. Main Blade Grip Set (part# EK1-317)
I read that "Aluminum Upgrade" for V4 is not really necessary, except for aluminum central hub so ordering only that.
Do I need Simulator CD ?
Please add if have left anything.
Please tell which store you recommend for 'ESky Lama V4' spares.
Thank You.

RE: What spares should I order for 'ESky Lama V4' ?
sounds like you got it covered.. these birds are fairly easy to fly.. you shouldnt really need all that but i would get it anyway.. its best to have them on hand then have to wait for parts to come. most if not all coaxils are pretty easy to fly.. people say they are a good starter bird. they will teach you the basic stick controls.. i dont think you will need a simulator with one of these. they pretty much are a sim.
now when ,,and you will,, decide to go bigger then invest in a sim.. you can get the esky 20 dollar sims that will teach you stick orientation but that is what the lama will do. after a while,,couple months or sooner you will probably be an expert with it and get bored with it.. then maybe get you a fixed pitch heli.. they are very hard to fly but easy to reapir and parts are cheap. you say you are going to get 5 sets of blades.. i think that is too many.. you wont crash that bird too much.. like i said you will probably learn to fly that thing the first day.. this is the sim i was talking about. i dont think any sims have coaxil helis on them because they are so easy to fly. but you may want to get one just to practice flying the single rotor birds..
http://www.raidentech.com/e4chflsitrki.html also has parts..
you can also download it here for free if your transmitter has the jack for the pc.

and here is a good online school for flight lessons.. again,,this is mainly for single rotor birds but may help you.. you have to follow it and dont cheat to learn and sve you some money on parts.. good luck,,,jake.

IMHO, you are ordering too much. Of course that is up to you but after flying my V4 since this past spring I have only had to replace blades. I did break a landing skid once that seem to break pretty easy and wasn't even a hard landing. However, I simply CA'd some carbon fiber strips to the break and it has been doing fine since. I have ordered my spares from Hobby-Lobby, they provide good service and are only a four hour drive from me so I usually get the items from them in a couple of days. I am sure there are other good sources for parts as well.

IMHO too that is a lot of stuff to order - almost getting an entire new heli as backup
you will break stuff and hate when you have to wait for parts but on the other hand sometimes downtime helps (me anyway) to get to know my heli by logging on and reading forums communicating with the gurus out there and doing maintenance ....
IMHO some downtime is not bad at all - i learn a lot when i read about how to fix knowing i can browse thru many of the forums cuz i have the time ...... one good thing i learned in downtime is alternate ways to fix my heli or alternate parts or what i am doing wrong - this gives me options to running out and just putting the other new part on vs knowing my mistakes and options....BUT... i also hate waiting on parts too long [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
peace

Thanks !
How many type of blades are there for 'Lama v4' ? normal ? 'HARD' ? 'Xtreme' ?
What is the difference ? Which one is recommended ?
Are 'Xtreme' blades heavy ? Will thet reduce flight time ?

There are some hard blades that I have seen at one of the retailers sites but I can't remember right now where that was. I will do some looking today. I would recommend staying with the stock Esky blades at least at first, they are thin and will break easily if you hit something. I have broken my share of blades this year but better to break a blade than bend a shaft or do other mechanical damage. Replacement blades are inexpensive too.
